Chapter 39: Double Date
Chapter 39: Double Date
"Tell Mr. and Mrs. Lee that I will be accompanying them personally when I go back there," I told my secretary abroad. We were done revising and completing the proposal, though it has a great impact on our company, and we have to adjust.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
Some of our investors and even our clients suddenly called for a meeting. I was in charge of presenting them with every detail. In the end, they agreed because we're not the only ones we could benefit from, but also them.
"Don't worry, ma'am. Mr. Jenkins already talked to them and cleared everything up," she said, and I nodded.
"Okay, about the papers I will be needing tomorrow, okay?" I said, and she nodded and smiled. After the meeting, I closed my laptop and decided to go to the nearest restaurant because I was so hungry.
When I arrived, they offered me a vacant table and gave me the menu, so I started ordering. When I checked the time, it was already lunchtime. When they served the food, I started to slice the meat. "Jasmine?" While I was eating alone at the table, someone suddenly called my name in a familiar voice.
And when I turned around, it was Mr. Adam, and he was sweating for real. What is he doing here? He suddenly sat on the chair without my permission and smiled like a lunatic. How can I describe him? He's not that thin, but sort of. He's also sweating so badly that his clothes are now wet. He kept on wiping his sweat, but it didn't stop. As far as I know, this restaurant has an air conditioner, and it's not that hot.
"Mr. Adam, what a surprise," I tried to smile while he was looking at me with those smiles.
"What is your order, Sir?" One of the waitresses asked him and handed him the menu.
"Just water, please," he said without hesitation. My face grimaces.
Some business owners say that he was the most miserable businessman in the world. He's a billionaire, yet he's known for being frugal. I couldn't even read the waitress's expression earlier.
"What's brought you here, Mr. Adam?" I asked him and stopped eating because I had already lost my appetite. He was always wiping his sweat, and I wasn't exaggerating when I said that his clothes were worn now.
"I just had a business meeting today, and I wasn't expecting to see you here," he said, which made me nod.
"I'm sorry, but I can't talk to you any longer because I still have work to do," I politely said, which made his forehead nod.
"I've never seen you for days. Could you stay for a minute and let's have a little talk?" he touched my hand. But before I could react, someone snatched his hand away from me.
"Ouch!" He complained and massaged his hand.
"Babe, what are you doing with this stingy man?" Paul said, sat beside me, and even put his hand on my chair like he owned me. I couldn't help but roll my eyes. This man, he and Travis were the same. "Babe?!" Mr. Adam exclaimed and looked at me so mad while massaging his hand.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Adam," I apologize, but he just ignored me. Huh? What's wrong with them? Why does it seem like it's my fault that it happened to him? He's not someone who can always keep on touching my hand. "And you! I'm not a stinky man!" he pointed at Paul angrily. When Paul stood up again, he became scared and left, glaring at me and massaging his hand.
"Who was that?" Paul asked. I sat properly and glanced at the food I had ordered. I sighed and leaned back on the chair.
"He is Mr. Adam. I don't know, but he kept showing off in front of me. " I said while looking at him. He chuckled, and I didn't know why.
"if I were a girl like that I would feel creepy about him" he said pointing to me and to him.
"Wait, what are you doing here, by the way?" I asked him, but he shrugged his shoulders.
I just rolled my eyes, and when my gaze went to the entrance. I saw Travis and Stacy walking inside.
"What is it?" He seemed to notice that I was looking at the entrance, but I just smiled at him.
"Travis and Stacy, what a coincidence " he stood up to talk to them And saw them both look at me. Stacy raised her eyebrows on me.
While Travis just looked at me plainly. I haven't thanked him for rushing me to the hospital.
"I wasn't informed that you, too, are now In the dating stage. " Stacy looks at me like she's trying to judge me.
"Well, maybe this will be a double
date now," Paul said and offered
them a seat. At first, Travis didn't
had
he
want to, but he stayed convinced no choice but to sit with us and order food. I just came here to eat, but wasn't expecting to be stuck here with them.
"Do you want this?" Paul offered me a slice of his food and placed it on my plate without waiting for my answer. "Here honey, taste this one" Stacy gave Travis a slice of meat, but Travis just nodded at her and didn't touch the food.
I didn't mind then and just started eating while I could see from my peripheral view that he'd been looking at me secretly. "How adorable," Paul suddenly said, wiping the side of my lips and chuckling.
"Sorry," he stopped and stared at me. What the heck was he doing? Didn't he feel ashamed?
Travis suddenly stood up and
excused himself while he gave me a glance before leaving. Stacy followed him. But Paul just laughed and told me to continue eating let out a sigh and just shrugged my shoulders.
'You shouldn't invite them here, Paul. Besides, we are not dating. You just suddenly appeared here," I said and stood up. I wasn't angry; I just wanted to leave this place now that they were both here.
He stood up and fixed himself.
"Because I owned this place, babe; by the way, I'm also inviting you to my party tonight. See ya," he said and kissed my hand before leaving. I was left watching him walk away. It sounds like this is another problem. I frowned on my mind.
