Her mind raced, recalling various instances of her dealings with Maverick.

Something didn’t add up.

From the beginning, she was the one eager to meet Maverick, yet he always found excuses to postpone it.

Even during their solitary encounter, he had concealed his face with a mask.

Was he afraid she would recognize him?

Besides, Maverick had never been curious about her appearance.

After her relationship with Maverick had eased, he had acted as if he knew everything about her.

Initially, she had dismissed these thoughts as paranoia.

Now, however, she couldn’t help but wonder if Maverick was closer to her than she realized.

Stella gazed at Neville’s photo, her expression conflicted.

Seeing her uncertain expression, Miley prodded, “Stella, what are you thinking? Does it make sense to you? Is this man truly Maverick?”

Stella shook her head, attempting to clear her thoughts.

“I need some time to sort this out.

The next morning, Stella arrived at the company early.

As Matthew’s former personal PR officer, she knew that Fernando often arrived ahead of time, stopping by a nearby cafe for breakfast before delivering a cup of coffee to Matthew.
