WARMING THE BILLIONAIRE COLD HEART

GIVE ME A CHANCE

“Nick, did you bring all the files?” Edward asked as he and Nicholas walked towards the lobby of the Alpha Beta building.

Nicholas nodded. “I’ve brought everything. Nothing’s left behind.”

Upon reaching the lobby, Nicholas handed over the keys to his car to Edward.

“You be the driver. I want to go over our presentation material for the American investors again,” he said.

Edward agreed to Nicholas’s request and reached for the car keys handed to him.

“We need to hurry. You know how bad the traffic in Jakarta can be at this hour.”

During the journey to the Capital building, Nicholas appeared busy reading through the presentation material one by one. His expression was so serious as if he didn’t want to be disturbed. Edward, who understood, chose to concentrate on driving rather than bothering him as usual.

“I’ve read and mastered our material. I’m confident we can secure the 25 trillion tender,” Nicholas said with conviction.

From behind the wheel, Edward smiled faintly. “As usual, your abilities are beyond doubt, Nick. If you weren’t a genius, Kenzie wouldn’t have chosen you as CEO to replace him.” Edward praised sincerely.

Nicholas nodded. “Thanks, God, I do excel in this field. But without your help, I wouldn’t be anyone either,” Nicholas complimented. “It seems I have to admit that we make a solid team. You’re skilled at negotiating and convincing clients to choose our company.”

Edward grinned. “No need for compliments, the definition of perfection is embodied in me. Handsome, wealthy, adored by women, and lastly, smart in business-”

“But unfortunately, you don’t have a girlfriend,” Nicholas quickly teased.

Although known as a playboy who frequently changed his dating partners, Nicholas had never seen Edward in a serious relationship with anyone. He was a free spirit.

Edward was just like Kiano. He played around with women too much. For now, Kiano had gotten into trouble when a woman claimed to be pregnant with his child. Who knew it might be Edward’s turn next? Who could tell?

Edward chuckled from behind the wheel. “Please emphasize that. Many women are waiting in line to be my girlfriend. It’s just that I’m too selective when it comes to partners, especially a wife. And don’t pretend to forget, Nick. You’re handsome yourself, but winning a woman’s heart is something you can’t do with just one try,” Edward replied. He was quite pleased with himself for mocking Nicholas, who couldn’t come up with a comeback.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

Nicholas lightly punched Edward’s left arm. “You’ll see, I’ll definitely win Kimberly back.”

Edward glanced briefly at Nicholas and laughed. “We’ll see, Nick.”

It took them about thirty minutes, and they finally arrived at the courtyard of the Capital building. After handing the car keys to the valet parking attendant, Nicholas and Edward hurriedly entered the main building and made their way to the meeting room.

There, many other business associates had already gathered. Some were busy chatting, while others were preparing themselves before the presentation began.

However, amidst it all, there was one thing that captivated Nicholas. As he greeted each person in the room, there was a woman sitting not far from the window, lost in her own world. At first, she was engrossed in conversation, but after a while, their eyes accidentally met.

Nicholas gazed in silence for a while, making sure that what he was seeing was real and not a hallucination. Once he was certain, Nicholas approached the spot where the woman was sitting.

“How are you, Kimmy? It’s been a while,” Nicholas said confidently, extending his hand.

Kimberly was surprised, but she tried to maintain a calm expression and shook Nicholas’s hand. “Nick… it’s nice to see you. As you can see, I’m doing very well.”

Nicholas nodded. “I’m very glad to hear that.” Truthfully, even though he missed Kimberly terribly, Nicholas chose to sit down immediately because the investors hosting the event had arrived in the room.

“Welcome, business participants, and thank you for your time with our company. To save time, we, from Capital, invite each participant to present their company one by one,” the Capital spokesperson welcomed to kick off the event.
