Chapter 32
Chapter 32
“Good day, Ms. Robertson. Elias is playing with Noah. Please come this way.”
Melanie thought in shock, ‘Play? Why is he playing with someone when he is sick?”
Melanie didn’t have the mood to ask too much about it.
Melanie followed the servant and saw a game castle after walking through a large garden.
Melanie felt that it should have been built not long ago.
Elias‘ laughter came out.
Melanie breathed a sigh of relief. She thought, ‘He laughs happily. Looks like he is fine now.’
“Elias.”
“Mommy.”
Elias ran out with sweat on his forehead. No one, especially Melanie, would associate such an energetic boy with illness.
Only then did Melanie realize that she came to the Lambert Manor in a hurry.
“Mommy, are you here because you miss me?”
“Yeah, I’m too busy these days. I miss you so much.”
Melanie picked up Elias and kissed him on the cheek.
Elias laughed happily.
At this moment, a boy about the same age as Elias ran over.
Elias introduced the boy to Melanie in a hurry..
“Mommy, this is my new friend Noah Scott.”
“Hello, Aunt Melanie.”
Noah greeted Melanie with a smile.
“Hello, Noah. Just call me Melanie or Ms. Robertson.” Melanie was a little
embarrassed.
“Mommy, Grandma said that Noah’s mom is my aunt. Of course, Noah shall call you Aunt Melanie.”
Elias solemnly corrected Melanie.
“Well, Melanie, he… The thing is a bit complex.”
Melanie was about to explain the difference to Elias when she heard a husky voice.
“Good boy. Noah, did the right thing. Just come to me when you don’t want to go to school next time.”
Roderick walked over.
“Elias, take Noah to take a shower. After that, change your clothes. Daddy and Mommy will talk about something here.”
Roderick picked up Elias and kissed him.
Melanie couldn’t help thinking of Edward and Ethan when she saw Elias smiling in Roderick’s arms.
There was also some doubt in Melanie’s heart. She thought, ‘So the children really want to live with their father, right? Is it too selfish for me to separate them?”
When Melanie got out of her thoughts, she found that the servant had already left with Elias and Noah.
Angie had also left.
Facing Roderick alone, Melanie couldn’t help feeling a little embarrassed.
“Well, I’m sorry. I thought Elias was unwell when you called me.”
Roderick was much taller than Melanie.
What was more, he kept staring at Melanie at the moment.
So intent was Roderick’s gaze that he looked as if he was observing a piece of treasure he valued very much.
“I want to see you.”
Melanie was stunned.
Melanie thought, ‘Does this man always speak so straightforward?‘
“You… I’m here to see Elias.”
“I know. I’m glad.”
Roderick stepped forward and took Melanie’s hand.
“Grandpa was glad when he heard that you are here. He wants to see you.”
Melanie tried to pull out her hand.
“I can go by myself.”
“I want to hold your hand,” Roderick said expressionlessly, clenching his hands a little tighter.
“What are you doing? It’s improper for you to do that in daytime.”
Melanie was a little dissatisfied.
Upon hearing that, Roderick stopped and smiled.
“Do you mean it is okay at night?”
Melanie was dumbfounded.
Melanie thought, ‘How come he has such a thought? I had never said that he had a choice, had I?‘
“Neither in the daytime nor at night,” Melanie said seriously.
“I’ve already held it, so I won’t let it go again.”
Roderick gazed at Melanie without blinking. His eyes were full of the fire of affection.
Melanie looked at Roderick suspiciously.
“The rumor has it that you always keep a distance from women. I guess it must be fake. Are you really Roderick from the Lambert family?” This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
Roderick was handsome and impressive.
He had a straight nose and the perfect shape it showed was obvious even when viewed from the front.
Roderick’s lips had a perfect thickness which made them alluring and sexy.
A small mole in the corner of Roderick’s eye added more charm to him.
Melanie thought, “Elias should look like Roderick when he grows up. Both of them. are good– looking.”
Roderick curled the corner of his lips into a smile. Clearly, he was happy at the
moment.
“Exactly.”
“All right.”
Melanie knew she couldn’t get rid of Roderick’s grip on her hand.
Melanie silently comforted herself in her mind, ‘Well, I’d better not waste my energy anymore. Anyway, I won’t get pregnant just because he holds my hand.”
Melanie and Roderick walked hand in hand through the villa, across the corridor, and into a building surrounded by flowers.
Many servants passed by on the way. They smiled when they saw Melanie and Roderick holding hands together.
Melanie blushed, hoping she could arrive at their destination as soon as possible.
As soon as Melanie and Roderick entered the door of the building, an old man. walked up. He smiled when he saw that Roderick was holding Melanie’s hand.
“Mr. Roderick Lambert, you are here. This must be your girlfriend Ms. Robertson. Mr. Geoffrey Lambert is waiting for you.”
Melanie thought in shock, ‘How come he thinks that I’m Roderick’s girlfriend?”
Melanie glared at Roderick and shook Roderick’s arm to express her dissatisfaction.
Roderick, however, just smiled at her.

Melanie regretted not making herself clear on the phone.
Now Melanie could only blame herself for being too anxious.
While Melanie was lost in thoughts, Roderick said, “It’s my fault.”
Melanie cast a glare at Roderick.
But Roderick didn’t take it seriously. He refused to let go of his grip on Melanie’s
hand.
Melanie had no choice but to walk into the hall with Roderick hand in hand.
After entering the hall, Melanie saw Geoffrey sitting on the opposite sofa and reading newspapers.
Seeing Roderick and Melanie come in hand in hand, Geoffrey immediately put on a smile.
“Melanie, come here quickly.”
Before Melanie could react, Roderick pulled her to the sofa and sat down.
Melanie greeted Geoffrey when she saw Geoffrey’s smiling face.
Geoffrey was delighted.
“Melanie, Roderick is a good man. He will be nice to you.”
Melanie was shy. She blushed and didn’t know what to say.
Melanie took a glance at Roderick and found that Roderick was also looking at her.
Melanie felt her heart beat faster inexplicably when her eyes met Roderick’s.
“Melanie, you are my daughter–in–law from now on. We met for the first time last time and I planned to give you a gift at that time, but you left in a hurry. I plan to give it to you today.”
Geoffrey then opened a box.
At that moment, the whole room seemed to be a little brighter.
In the box was a snake–shaped brooch.
A snake with its head held high nested on a large blue gem.
The body of the snake was inlaid with colored diamonds, except for its eyes, which were inlaid with yellow diamonds.
Though Melanie didn’t know the brooch’s price, she could tell from its superb craftsmanship that it was valuable.
Geoffrey looked at the brooch with satisfaction.
“Roderick, put it on, for your girlfriend.”

“Okay, Grandpa.”
Melanie waved her hand.
“No, no, it’s too valuable. I can’t take it.”
