I try to get it
With a sense of hesitation, Letta then picked up the phone from Abian. Abian’s voice sounded as usual, calm and gentle, which had always been Letta’s favorite.
“Are you there?” Abian asked, making Letta unable to even utter a word.
“I went to your apartment earlier, and the apartment owner said that you had moved out without asking for a refund,” said Abian, making Letta not expect that Abian would know about his move so quickly.
“Is that true?” Abian asked again.
“Yes, I moved out of that apartment,” Letta replied, standing and gazing at the sky that had turned orange.
“I want to return your belongings,” Abian said, making Letta furrow his brow. Letta thought Abian meant the items given by him.
“You don’t need to return them if you don’t like them. You can throw them away, and I’ll do the same,” Letta said, immediately silencing himself. Letta couldn’t believe that he would utter such cruel words, but there was no other way to make Abian truly stay away from him. Letta didn’t want Abian to hesitate to leave him.
“I can’t do that. Your things, of course, I will keep them safe. I just want to return the things that you should have,” Abian said, making Letta silent once again.
“Do you remember? You always make requests when you are sad or upset, and you always say it and complain to me,” Abian said, making Letta understand what Abian meant now.
“Sometimes you say that you want a ring made of climbing plants with a flower as a gem, sometimes you say you want a hat made of straw, or you also want a scarf made of knitted wool. Do you remember all those requests?” Abian asked, making Letta unable to hold back her tears, which were now wetting both of her cheeks. Did Abian really fulfill all of his requests, Letta wondered.
“Do you believe it? It’s just a joke when I’m upset. I don’t really want it. Why would I lie like that?” Letta said, trying to hold back her trembling voice.
“But not for me. For me, listening to all your stories, hearing all your grievances, it’s not just a joke. Every time I hear you want something, I try to get it, keep it, and I will give it to you when we meet. And it seems like the chance to fulfill all those requests is late because I kept delaying it,” Abian said again, making Letta only able to grip her sweaty fingers.
“From the beginning of our meeting, I should have granted all your requests. I wanted to give them all on your birthday. Isn’t that coming up soon?” Abian said, making Letta even forget her own birthday. Letta didn’t know how to hold back her sobbing anymore.
“Sorry, I’m too busy. If you only want to talk about that, I still have something to do,” Letta said, trying to avoid their conversation. However, when Letta was about to hang up the phone, Abian stopped her again.
“At least give me an address to send all these items,” Abian said, making Letta silent once again.
“Didn’t I say it was just a joke? I couldn’t possibly want those things. You can throw them away, and I don’t need them,” Letta said, then completely hung up the phone. Letta could only collapse, curling up on the cold floor that pierced her skin. She could only bend her knees, leaning against the wall, which now only served as her support and anchor.
Letta truly let out all her tears. Letta couldn’t believe she would really become such a cruel woman, but for Letta, this was the best way for Abian to find an even better woman than her, because Letta knew how an Abian who would not leave unless she really pushed him away. Until their sobbing stopped when the door to her room opened. Letta couldn’t lift her face when she smelled the very familiar aroma that had been lingering in her senses lately. Making Letta know without looking in his direction, the figure of Marco, who might now be standing tall in front of her.
“Do you not hear the doctor’s words that you shouldn’t get too stressed?” Marco said, making Letta unable to bear his chatter. Letta then immediately got up from her seat, responding to Marco’s gaze with a sharp look.
“Stop being childish,” Marco said again.
“Being childish? Can’t I cry? Can’t I mourn my own life? Can’t I lament my misfortune? This is all the childish behavior you see. I’m not a robot, I’m a human with expressions and feelings. So, stop trying to control me. I know what I have to do, and I know my feelings. I will take responsibility for what will happen to my child on my own,” Letta said in a high tone, making Marco fall silent.
Marco could see that Letta was truly angry with him. Marco didn’t know what problem Letta was currently facing, but it seemed that her mood was bad, making Marco only able to rub his face roughly.
“Okay, I’m sorry. Maybe I overreacted. But can you not dwell too much on your sadness? There are many facilities here that can make you feel at ease. Do you want a massage or want to swim, take a walk, and you can read a book. I will also prepare any food you want right now, so tell me to change your mood,” Marco said, making Letta only able to rub her face roughly.Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
“It’s not about all the luxuries you provide. It’s about my feelings that can’t be bought by anything. So, stop trying to control and leave me alone. I’ll feel better that way, without seeing you and without your rules,” Letta said, then walked past Marco, choosing to enter the bathroom.
“Be careful walking, the bathroom might be slippery,” Marco called out, which could still be heard by Letta after she closed the bathroom door. Letta fell silent, looking at the luxurious bathroom. It turns out, it really couldn’t change her feelings, even though luxury now surrounded her. Letta could only cry again about what was happening to her. However, Letta hoped that with her attitude, Abian would truly stay away from her.
