“Is she fine?” Calvin asked Liara when he reached the hospital. He very well knew that she was the best in her work.
“I have removed the bullet from her brain, but the bullet was coated with wolfsbane, because of which I can’t sense her wolf. And we both know that if wolfsbane reaches any werewolf’s brain, then it damages….”
“Lee, I don’t want to know that part. Just tell me that she will be fine, right?” Calvin asked, cutting her in between.
“I can’t say that she will be absolutely all right,” Liara replied instead of giving any hope to him.
“I know that right now, I may sound selfish, but… but is it possible that you can use your power in this state?” he asked, getting desperate. Out of all the siblings, Liara was blessed with a special power that made her more special than she already was. [You have read her book to know that. ]
“Trust me, I already did, but the rest of the things depend on Moon Goddess and how Ethlyn’s body reacts to the medicines,” Liara replied, and her face paled when her eyes landed on her mate, who was giving her a cold look. “Seems like I’m going to get the silent treatment.” She muttered. That was when Calvin noticed Theodore’s presence. He might be mad at his mate for using her powers when she was pregnant.
Liara gave him an innocent and walked toward him while Calvin looked at her mom, who was there for him.
Actually, his whole family wanted to be there for him, but a lot of werewolves were admitted to the hospital because of the injuries. So, it was better to stay with only one or two family members with the patient rather than shifting the whole family to the hospital.
“She will be all right. Don’t worry.” Sophia Haysbert said, reaching Calvin and wiping the tear that rolled out of his eyes which he didn’t know about until his mother wiped it.
“I can’t feel Cinder, Mom,” Calvin said in worry. His panic was growing with each passing second. “I’m scared, Mom, that I might end up losing Cinder.” Saying this, he started crying bitterly and hugged Sophia tightly.
“I… I used to tease her… by.. by calling her USELESS.” Calvin spoke. “Never did I think that she would shut my mouth, showing that how important she was in this way.”
Calvin cried in Sophia for god knows how long and then when into the room in which Ethlyn was. He came there to apologize to her after crying on his mother’s shoulder but seeing her between the machines; he couldn’t control his tears again.
She looked like she was in a deep sleep, the sleep in which she used to be when he had left her after fucking her the whole night, not moving an inch. He couldn’t even see her breathing on her own, but the machines surrounding her was the one helping her in breathing properly.
“I’m sorry is a very small word for the things that I said to you and for the way I made you feel.” He finally spoke, holding her cold hand. Even Keanu was going nuts for not being able to feel Cinder even when she was sleeping right in front of her. The thought of her going into a coma for again five years or something similar to that was making him worried.
“Why did you save me? Why?” He asked and received no answer from her in return.
‘I can never think of hurting anyone. You know that, right?’
‘I doubt I do. I wonder how your father handled that toxic woman for around twenty-five years, but I won’t make the mistake of doing it for that long.
‘Then go ahead. Reject me. This… this rejection is not in my hand because I haven’t marked you yet, but leaving you is definitely in my control, and I won’t mind LEAVING you forever.’
Ethlyn’s words rocked his brain as he fought to control his tears which had apparently stopped a moment before. He fought to keep his composure. He fought to control the pain that he felt at the thought that came into his mind unknowingly. What if ‘LEAVING’ meant leaving the world?
That simple thought was making him lose his shit, and his heart wouldn’t stop throbbing. Keanu felt like he would die if that happened for real. All he recalled all he had last memory with Ethlyn was that he had hurt her badly. Still, she risked her life to save him.

A few hours later!!
“Rose, please eat something, sweetheart.” Caroline tried to feed her, but she just shook her head, refusing to eat anything, and cried thinking about Ethlyn’s situation.
“Mommy is in this condition because of me.” She said, and tears dwelled in her eyes again. Just like Calvin, even she was a crying mess.
“That’s not true.” Caroline tried to explain to her again, but Roselet was not ready to believe her. She kept blaming herself because only if she wouldn’t run away from the pack wouldn’t this incident have happened. “Thank god you’re here.” Caroline sighed when Calvin walked into Roselet’s room. “Only you can make your daughter understand that what she is thinking is so wrong.” She added.
Calvin didn’t want to leave Ethlyn’s side, but then Tiara informed him that he had to attend to his daughter as well because she was sitting extremely sad after crying a lot, not eating anything, and also she wasn’t talking to anyone about it except repeating, ‘Mommy is in this condition because of me’ as if she went into some trauma.Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
“Daddddyyy,” Roselet ran on the bed toward Calvin and started crying on her own when she saw him. Calvin was quick to pick her up in his arms and hugged her.
“Yes, love?” He whispered, kissing her cheek and caressing her back. Caroline smiled and left from there by keeping the dinner on the table, giving Roselet space so that she could talk to her father about whatever she had inside her heart.
“How’s Mommy?” She asked and received no answer from Calvin. She broke the hug and looked at Calvin, who was also crying. She wiped his tears. “I’m sorry. It happened because of me.” She spoke.
