The Proud Boss Lady.

Chapter 25: 25

Chapter 25: 25

“I enjoyed the concert last night, thank you." Soraya thanked Noah.

“The pleasure's mine." He smiled at her as she went silent all of a sudden.

“What's up?" He asked noticing her change in mood.

“Im leaving for Jersey City, in two days and I don't want to go, whatever this is I am enjoying it." She

voiced out.

“Then I could come with you, I live in Jersey City too." He added.

“Really? Aren't you here for an important duty?" She asked as they walked to his car.

“Well, I am but I would be done tomorrow, so you and I can leave the next day." He told.

“What job do you do?" She asked.

“Well, I am a PA." He admitted.

“Okay, I am a CEO, but it doesn't matter does it?" She smiled. At first, she would have been bothered

but now she didn't anymore.

“Nope, it doesn't." He answered as the sat on the bonnet of his car starring into the night.

“Hey," Zed said as he hugged Freya from the back. They stood at the balcony of her building that night.

The view from there was breathtakingly beautiful.

“Hi," She smiled melting into his touch.

“What's on your pretty little mind?" He asked kissing her temple.

“Just grateful for how my prayers have come to pass, finally I am with the man I've loved for such a

long time." She sighed as Zed remained silent. She didn't want to force him to love her, she knew he

only said it back because she says 'I love you' on a regular basis. She just wanted to shower him with

love, to know how it feels to love and to be loved.

“Are you okay?" She turned to her man who was lost in thought.

“Did you delete a message someone sent to me the day you came over to my office for lunch?" He

asked suddenly remembering.

“Yeah, I did, it was from Soraya wanting you guys to get back together, I replied you had moved on and

deleted the message." She admitted. He moved further away from her. He was hurt she didn't tell him

and she didn't trust him.

If she did she wouldn't have done what she did.

“Why didn't you tell me?" He blurted out as she remained silent.

“You thought I was going to go back for her? How little you trust me." He said walking back inside as

she stood at her balcony in sadness. She didn't want to follow him inside yet. She just wanted to give

him time to cool off until she heard the door shut and then saw him walk to his motorcycle and drive off.

Just when I thought I had him to myself.

Why can't he let go of her?

Why?!

Freya lamented sitting on her lazy chair up on the balcony.

Am I not worthy of his love?

Am I not loveable?

I've done and tried everything but, he's still torn between both of us. She sobbed.

“I can't believe mom pulled this up." Keith happily added.

“I know I was shocked as well when she handed over the tickets to the BTS concert," Hailey told as

Lex drove on.

“You guys enjoy the moment and stop doubting her, she wasn't a good mom, yes, but can't you see

she is trying to make things much better?" He asked remembering his mom and how he wished he

could spend more time with her.

“I guess you're right, but it's kinda hard to get used to the new her, she never cared one bit about us, it

was only Soraya that mattered and nothing else." Hailey voiced out.

“You mean even when you were kids she didn't care?' Lex couldn't help but ask. NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.

“When we were much younger, she used to care. She was always around taking care of us until work

and fame came into the picture. Those were the last time she ever cared." Keith poured out.

“Maybe she's trying to be that mom again so you guys, let her," Lex advised.

“I am with Lex on this one, just give her one more chance." Sunny added.

“Okay, we will." Both Hailey and Sunny said at the same time.

“You're a smart girl, you will do well in high school but be careful of the crowd you hang around with.

And it's normal for your friends to change because y'all adolescents now. Just don't judge them but

pray they remain the same people you knew in middle school. It's normal for you to want a boyfriend,

for you to have sex. But Amelia is careful how you go about it. Always be on the contraceptive before

sex or keep condoms with you, you would never know what may happen. And for your menstrual cycle

and all, I know you're all clear on that topic since you started menstruating a few weeks ago." The

woman told.

“Thanks, grandma, you're the best in the whole wide world and I can't love you less." The teenager

hugged her. At 16, she had grown taller and curvier, and more pretty.

“Hi, Mrs Velasquez," Rita added walking into the house.

“Hi Rita, just in time for breakfast, you girls still have a few hours before school starts," Trudy added.

“Id love that," The girl walked to the kitchen to join her friend.

“Have you heard from Lauren, Cody and Jake?" Amelia asked.

“Lauren would be here soon but for the guys, I don't know. I didn't hear from any of them during

summer break." Rita said as Lauren entered the kitchen.

“Hey Mrs V." She said hugged the petite woman.

“Lauren, how are you, you look beautiful," Trudy added as she joined her friends at the table.

“How come you're making breakfast and not Amelia?" Rita asked out of the blue.

“Because I insisted even though she wasn't having it. I told her it was my treat to you girls for your first

day in high school." She told.

“Okay, we would let this one pass but next time we won't," Lauren said as they all burst into laughter.

“Zed are you---" He walked passed her without acknowledging her presence.

“Ok?" Jess asked to no one in particular as he slammed the door in his face.

What happened? She wondered to herself. She was done with the renovation to the salon and it was

going to be opened tomorrow. Most people around that vicinity were surprised that Miguel had

reopened his wife's salon years after her demise. They had suggested it to him on countless occasions

but he refused.

I hope the relaunch goes on well.
