CHAPTER 06: The Assigned Room
LOSING HER CHILD is also losing the other part of herself. Lilian never knew that she could go
through this kind of pain.
The rain is pouring hard but she couldn't afford to leave the place where she buried the little life from
her womb... her baby.
"L-Lilian, come on. Let's go back," Penny said beside her as she touched her shoulders, comforting
her. They are now both soaking wet from the rain but Lilian doesn't really mind it. She wanted to just
stay in the place where she buried her child. She wanted to be with her forever.
The rain seemed to understand what she's feeling because it poured harder as her cries became
louder. But then the scenarios that she saw a while ago made everything worse. Alpha Karius is now
going to be with the woman on his level... a woman who has a nice background... unlike her who's just
an Omega.
But how could he do that to her?! He ended everything between them just like that! He hurt her with his
most sharpest words that stabbed her heart for a million times! He's so cruel that she can't help but to
get mad at him! How could he even afford to act like that in front of the whole pack when here she is...
grieving with their lost child.
"I... I d-don't want this p-pain anymore! I don't like it! P-Please, stop the pain! Take it all away!" She
shouted as she looked at the gloomy sky and held her chest.
Penny couldn't help but to also cry on Lilian's situation right now. She knelt down on the muddy ground
and hugged her sideways to comfort her. Lilian doesn't deserve this. She doesn't deserve to lose
someone very dear to her. She didn't even have the chance to carry her first child in her arms.
Although she's clueless on the father of Lilian's child, Penny had a hunch that her relationship with her
child's father is not really good. Because Lilian should not go through this kind of pain alone.
Where is her child's father? Penny couldn't help but to think about it. She wanted to ask Lilian but it's
not the right time to ask, seeing her state right now.
"Hush now, Lilian..." she whispered to her as her eyes were getting misty from the rain and her own
tears.
Penny only wished that Lilian would be fine soon. She's not that close to her but she hopes and prays
that her pain will end eventually.

mirror. She lost weight and has bags around her eyes. Her lips are dry, the same as her own hair. It
feels like she's already dead even though she's still literally alive.
She sighed before washing her own face with the cold water. Today, she'll be facing another challenge
of being the lowest of the low in the pack. She will go out to do the duties of an Omega... the slave of
the higher ranked wolves.
It hurts that until now, the system of the pack is still trashy. Everyone should be treated fairly even
though they don't have the same ranks.
After fixing herself, Lilian went out without any hint of emotion on her face. When she went out, she
saw some kids running around while carrying a basket full of newly harvested fruits and vegetables,
even heavier than their weight. At their young age, they are supposed to have fun and studying but
since they have a fucked up system in the pack, they are forced to do the labor.
Lilian pursed her lips. She failed to recognize all of this as she was too blinded with the idea of being in
love secretly with Alpha Karius that much. She failed to see the hardships of the Omegas like her
inside the pack.
"Lilian!"
Lilian straightened her back when she heard the familiar voice of the head of the Omegas. It was
Clarine. They are not that close but Clarine is nice. She's five years ahead of Lilian. Clarine looked tired
as she caught her own breath and held her chest. She's thin, probably because of too much work she's
facing everyday. But despite the wrinkles on her face, it can't be denied that she's a pretty woman.
"Hey, Clarine," Lilian said dryly. She has actually no strength to interact that much to anyone right now
but she doesn't want to appear rude in front of her.
"Good thing I saw you! Mason instructed me yesterday to go to the Alpha's mansion today. They are in
need of cleaners since our Luna is moving in," Clarine said with a glint of happiness in her eyes.
Lilian couldn't help but to bite her lower lip when she saw the glint of hope in Clarine's eyes. Compared
to the other works, cleaning the Alpha's mansion was the most lightest work to handle. If they were in
another situation right now, Lilian would probably feel happy and jump in so much excitement. Because
there's a chance that she would see Alpha Karius again. But she could only feel the anger inside her
with the idea that she's going to see Alpha Karius again. She secretly clenched her own fists.
And, what? The Luna is moving in? That means they are going to live on one roof? Lilian couldn't help
but to think about it.
"Okay..." she answered weakly with a slight smile on her lips, masking the anger and pain she felt.
Clarine clung to her arm as they walked towards the other Omegas who were also waiting for them.
They are all four Omegas that will go to the Alpha's mansion right now to clean.
"This is my first time going to the mansion! I'm so excited!" said Dahlia. She's the youngest among the
four. Compared to their heights, Dahlia is the smallest and also the most approachable among them.
"Cut that, Dahlia. I know you're just excited to see the Alpha. Stop daydreaming about him ending up
with you. He already has his own Luna," Jasmine said with her coldest tone while holding the cleaning
materials that they are going to use later.
"I know that, Jasmine!" Dahlia rolled her eyes. "I know, they already announced our new Luna but... I'm
just wondering... is she really our Luna? I mean, is she already mated to Alpha Karius? We all know
how sacred the mating process is in our pack. It will be a shame for Alpha Karius to end up with
someone who's not even his mate--"
"Shh! Stop talking about that! Someone might hear you!" Clarine cut Dahlia off from speaking. "Get
ready. Mason will be the one to fetch us later."
Dahlia just pouted and rolled her eyes. Jasmine just shook her head at her childishness and remained
quiet until they reached the meeting place where Mason was going to fetch them. Moments later, they
saw him standing seriously near the entrance of the village where most of the Omegas reside. Omegas
are really considered as the 'outcast' in the pack so they are separated from the higher ranked wolves.
Disgust is evident on Mason's face as he looks at the Omegas working their ass off walking around and
doing their duties. He even hissed at someone who almost bumped on him but he let it pass the
moment he saw the four of them.
"Let's make things clear here. Don't ever make a fucking mess inside the Alpha's mansion. Our Luna is
also there. If by any chance that one of you will create a scene there, I'll gladly personally punish you."
Mason threatened them before he gestured his head to follow him.
They walked all together following Mason, not daring to talk, afraid that they might offend him. It took
them a couple of minutes when they reached the Alpha's mansion. They were welcomed by the head
of the helpers, an elderly woman who's obviously waiting for them.
"Here they are, Nadia. You are free to punish them if they make a mistake," Mason said as he looked at
the four of them with his threatening expression again. "I'll go for now. I have to check on those filthy
Omegas who are working on the tunnel."
Lilian gulped at Mason's words as she inhaled a deep breath to stop herself from talking back. Mason
labeling the Omegas 'filthy' is also hurting her but she shut her mouth to not make everything worse.
She wanted to shout at him for calling them filthy but she just clenched her own fist to stop herself. He
left immediately after that.
The elderly woman that Mason called Nadia just nodded her head. She looked serious and reminded
Lilian, the antagonist in the book that she read before. Her hair is in a neat ponytail that defines her
high cheekbones. Her lips are on its grim line as she looks at the four of them from head to toe, like
she's judging them through her stares.
"Come inside. I'll assign the four of you to the rooms where you could work," Nadia told them with her
coldest tone as she made her way inside the mansion. When they got inside, she looked at the four of
them again and pointed at Lilian. "You. I'll assign you to the room of our Luna. You better do your thing
as quickly as possible because Alpha Karius will also occupy that room soon."
Lilian gulped. She doesn't know but she had a feeling that what she's going to do won't turn out well.
But then she smiled bitterly when she realized what Nadia said. So... they are going to sleep in one
room soon, huh. Who knows what they 're gonna do behind closed doors alone. Of course, they
wouldn't just stare at each other. They will do more than that. And thinking about those things hurts
Lilian despite the anger she's feeling. Not long enough, they will produce their own pups that will be the
next in line to their throne. A happy family...
Bitterness crept in Lilian's system as she suddenly remembered her little angel who passed away. She
couldn't help but to think how Alpha Karius could continue his life normally after he hurt her without
remorse.
