One-Hundred Thirty-Nine: Preparing for New Members

Kaleb

Stressful, that is what this week is going to be. Dustin got the letter yesterday that we will be taking

over Darrius’s pack. This pack is not a big pack. It only has 400 members. With the land that we have

and with that land, we have more than enough land. There is a small amount of land between the two

packs that Dustin and I want to acquire. It is not owned by anyone. The land is for sale. If we can

acquire this land, then our pack will be the biggest in the state. Thankfully there is not much going on

here at work this week.

“No chaperone?” Dustin asked.

“Fuck off. No, she stayed home.” I tell him

Kylani finally let me come to work without her coming with me. I am not sure how I convinced her, but I

did. It did take a while, especially after the whole debacle of Trent and I end up on the island that they

own. Jace showed me the video of what happened when they had to explain to Kylani what happened.

Yeah, she was pissed. I am not sure how someone didn’t die. Dustin takes a seat in the chair in front of

my desk. I have both of my laptops open. One is for the office; the other is for the pack's business.

“We are going to travel to the other pack Sunday,” Dustin tells me.

“I know. The official transfer of power is Monday right?” I ask.

“Yeah, I am not taking Mykayla.” He says.

I wasn’t expecting her to come along. With the fact that Asmoday and his group want her and Einyn, it

is better for her to stay home.

“I think once we make it official that we let the girls secretly wander around and see what everyone is

saying.” He states.

“I was actually thinking the same thing,” I say.

I let out a sigh. I really don’t want them sneaking around. I have no idea how many or if any of the pack

is still loyal to Darrius. I know his gamma has already reached out to us. Both of us have talked with

him over the phone, and he seems cool so far. It will be nice to know who we can and can’t trust.

“Maybe we should let them in before it is official. That way we know who we can and can’t trust.” I point

out.

“I thought that too. I should be hearing from the bank about the purchase of the land today. I am

hopeful that we can have the land by this Friday. Marcus and Jason already have security measures

ready to go as soon as I sign the paperwork. I had the animals sniff around the land. All they found was

a couple of rogues that were passing through. Brighton watched them. They have left their packs and

have not caused any problems.” He explains.

“Once we have the land should we see if they want to join the pack?” I ask.

“Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. I told Brighton and Ashton to keep an eye on them for this purpose.”

He says.

We continue with our conversation. My office phone rings, startling both of us. I reach over and press

the button to turn it on to the speakerphone.

“Get your ass back to your office right now! The bank is on the phone about the land. Stop goofing off

with Kaleb. You have shit to do.” Mykayla yells.

She hangs up, and I start laughing. She has not let him off the hook since she returned to work. She

was pissed with the state of his office. Dustin lets out a sigh and stands up. I tell him to go before she

stomps her way down here and drags him back. I have an assistant. I thought about having Kylani

become my assistant, but I knew that wouldn’t work. Thankfully I found a great assistant.

“Was that Mykayla? She sounded pissed.” Colin asks.

“Yes, she is still riding Dustin’s ass making sure he gets shit done,” I tell him.

He laughs. Colin is my assistant. He spends most of his time down here and not in heaven. He is an

amazing assistant, and I don’t have to worry about some chick hitting on me. We just need to make it

through the next two weeks, and then hopefully, everything will calm down, and we can deal with

Asmoday and his bunch.

“You do remember that the week after you have that meeting with the Spariano's in Greece right?”

Colin says.

Shit, that’s right. I forgot about that. I look at him, and he rolls his eyes at me cause he knows I forgot. I

told him we would talk about it later. I lean back against my chair and let out a sigh. This month is going

to be busy.

Nate

Well, the land between the packs is ours. Dustin got a call from the bank yesterday, and all the

paperwork went through fast. We are sending in a construction crew and architects to start clearing the

land to build more homes. I am excited. This is just what our pack needed. Dustin and Kaleb are

leaving for the new pack on Sunday. I know they sent the girls in today to see what kind of gossip or

talk is going on within the pack. Basically to see who is and is not still loyal to Darrius. Oh, I can only

imagine how pissed he is with this. Well, he dug his own grave.

“NATE WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR LUNCH?” Daniylla screams.

I shake my head and get up from my desk. I shut my door and walked down to the kitchen. I swear Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

none of these women knows how to talk without yelling. I stand at the kitchen door, and I see Araya,

Daniylla, and Satyira in there.

“Shouldn’t you be helping others with the other pack?” I ask her.

“We just got back. I knew you hadn’t had lunch yet.” She tells me.

She walks over and gives me a kiss on the cheek. I wrap my arms around her waist. She lets out a

giggle.

“Please, not in the kitchen,” Mitchell says.

I ignore him. Bastard, we aren’t even doing anything. I sit down on one of the bar stools by him and

Draydon. Ashton and Seth are also there. I know what they are here for. They want first dibs on the

food.

“ASHTON YOU LITTLE BITCH.” Mykenzie yells.

We all turn towards Ashton. I wonder what he did this time. I hear Chris snicker. Ashton throws him a

dirty look. I roll my eyes.

“I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING,” Ashton yells back.

“THEN WHERE ARE THE FUCKING BROWNIES,” Mykenzie screams.

We all look at each other. Ashton yells back that he has no idea. I look at the rest, and nobody has

seen any brownies. I just hope whoever took them has run because these two are going to have

someone’s head. In the interest of saving someone's life, I decide to send out a text letting them know

that the girls have noticed their brownies missing and that someone's death is imminent. I get a series

of responses telling me thanks for the warning.

I take the plate of food that Daniylla hands me, and damn, it tastes fantastic. I have no idea how this

pack got so lucky to have so many women that can cook and bake this, but we did. I really just want

the next two weeks to go by fast. It is going to be busy with the council officially handing over the pack

to us and with all the construction starting on the newly acquired land. Luckily, the girls said they would

help with the new land and possibly renovation once we see what the buildings on the new pack land

are like. That took a lot of stress off Dustin, Kaleb, and me. We meet with the crews and architects

tomorrow. I doubt they will put up resistance when Dustin tells them that they will be answering

Mykayla, Mykenzie, Kylani, Daniylla. They are the ranked women, well, Mykenzie isn’t, but if you deal

with Kylani then you deal with Mykenzie. They are a set. I think he is also going to have Chris and

Reecie help just in case any of the men on the crews decide to give the women a hard time. I really

don’t think that will happen. We just have to make sure that they don’t piss off Mykenzie and Kylani. We

don’t need them killing any of the crew. This is going to be an interesting next few weeks.
