Chapter 235 A Boy That Is A Girl
…Cassidy POV…
Well, if there is one time that I prefer to be flung over the shoulder of a man, then that would be just before Lucas drops me down on the bed.
But as this very particular time, I find myself hanging across the back of one rather unpleasant smelling Bloodluster that seems to think that he has taken some poor woman hostage. Though he has managed to rip a gash open on the exposes skin of my stomach when he so clumsily ripped me away from the rest of the group.
And once he had achieved this feat, he came rushing over this parking lot to get me as far away from Lucas. Now I know that Lucas will come looking for me with a great purpose, but I am tired of being the poor damsel in distress. Most of all I do not want Lucas to remind me that he has told me to sit on the sideline for this battle.
So with what can only be described as a cringe into my soul that I am lacking, I snap my head back and expose the razor-sharp tips of my fangs. After counting a slow agonizing count of three I slam my teeth into the side of the Bloodluster.
He cries out in pain, and in almost an instant, he drops me to the floor in a rather big puddle of muddy water. Yet, I would rather be soaked in filth than hanging onto this animal’s body. And it is his very body that is now rising from the ground.
But wait…
This is not a man…
This goddamn thing in front of me, is very much a woman…
Explains why the mere impact of my fangs have left her stunned.
But I do not care for what this Bloodluster is, so with the only though being that of getting away, I roll to the left through another pile of shit in the effort to get to my feet. Though the moment I make my move, the Vampire launches her foot right into my gut.
As I curl into a ball to stop her from doing it again, she grabs me by the hair and pulls me up from the ground.
I guess time for play is now over…
For as I stand in front of her, she slams her claw with the utmost force into the side of my face causing it to snap to the left. The mere impact leaves my skin tearing open at the edge of my brow.
Well that is not going to sit well with me.
So I retract my arm, and as I drive it forward, my claw rips open and smashes into the bridge of her nose which seems to be very fake. Well I thought this looked like a plastic doll, but as my knuckles crash between her eyes, it is yet confirmed by the cracking of whatever they used to enchance her rather unsightly feature that seems to have turned wrong the moment that she became a Vampire.
But the instant drop my arm by my side again, she comes storming and launches herself directly into my chest. The impact knocks me back and I fall with my ass flat in the water again. As I drop to the floor, the water splashed up into my face and I am unable to see what her very next move is going to be.
Yet, I soon feel it as she grabs me by my hair once again, but instead of pulling to my feet, she swings her leg towards me and let her heel of her shoe rip into the flesh of my forehead.
In agony I fall back with my head hitting the pavement.
The anger is now starting to grow deep within me.
Lucas was right, I am in no way capable to take on any Vampire as my body has grown weak. I doubt that I can even managed to gain the power to get myself out of this situation. Yes, he said that these Bloodlusters are far stronger than a normal Vampire and he was indeed right about that. Though I am determined not to die by the hand of such a vile creature. This woman was once, apart from her plastic enhancements rather beautiful, but beauty is not something the possesses as she is trying to end my miserable existence.
Well, I have a surprise for her. I am not yet ready to part from my husband and the land of the immortal living.
So I pull my knees into my chest and jump to my feet. The moment I hit the floor, I kick her feet from underneath her and she lands into the very same puddle that I just rose from. But she is far quicker than me to gain her composure again. She leaps through the air and drops next to me with a loud thud, sending water splashing up in the air. With one rather wicked snapping of her jaw, she starts to make her way towards me.
In an instant, she has me by the hair once again and pulls me closer to her. I watch in agony as the tips of her fangs comes slowly in contact with my skin.
Then…
She drives her fangs deep into the delicate parts of my neck.
“You fucking bitch.”
My voice echoes into the stretch of the road that is far to deserted for my liking. It seems that today I am going to die in some City that I do not wish to be in. And even worse, I am going to die all alone by myself. I would have given anything to have Lucas with me right now but I am afraid that the rain has cover my scent and even if I am bleeding, it does not make any differnence in him finding me.
So as this Vampire retracts her fangs from my neck, she snaps her head back…
But…
This is not happening…
…Lucas POV…
I am not able to pick up Cassidy’s scent and we have just heard the screams of a woman coming from far up the road. So we are desperately making our way to where it has come from. My greatest fear is that Cassidy has not got the strength to fight off the Bloodluster.
I wish that she had listened to me.
But she is stubborn that way and I know that she will not go down without a fight. Though I need to be there, and even if it is while she is slowly fading away, I need her to know that she was not alone in her last moments.
In saying that…Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
It will not happen.
She will find that strength to get through this, even if it is the very last thing that she does.
So it is with utmost determination that we make the race through the parking lot to the very road that we came from earlier on. Now it will be fairly quiet, not that it makes me feel rest assure. What if there are more than one Bloodluster that we do not know of?
I do not even wish to entertain that thought.
And with this palying in my mind, I sprint alongside Jacob and I can honestly say that I am impressed that the Vampire Hunter can hold his speed to mine. But I need to remind myself that I am not giving this my all and that I can and in fact, I should ran at my full potential.
With that I slowly start picking up the speed that my legs are carrying me to the road that is now coming up fast. And as I glance over my shoulder, I watch as Jacob catches up to me. Standing on the pavement, I look from left to right.
“Which way?” I look at the Vampire Hunter hoping that he will be able to give us direction.
“I say we go right,” he finally points his hand into a direction that he feels confident about.
So we set off into the other direction…
From the distance underneath the rain that is pounding down onto the tar and dropping with loud drops down at our feet, we can hear the screams of…
“There are two woman.”
But just as I say this, there is the incredible growl that comes deep from the depths of what I am guessing must be the Bloodluster.
The closer we get to the connecting street, we can hear the growls of the animal as it starts to tear through the night. There is a cold that washes over me as the thought hits me that at any moment Cassidy is going to be ripped to pieces.
It is with eyes for terror that I look at Jacob, but he only looks at me with reassuring eyes, “She will be fine Lucas.”
And with this thought in mind, we turn that corner, but by god, I am shocked to my core as I see what is in front of me….
