The Alpha Vampire

Chapter 175 The Great Illness

It troubles me a great deal to know that Roberto finds him in such trouble. What is even more of a concern is why the man did not tell me the moment that he arrived at my home. For Blood Lust alone, I need to give him the ultimate sentence of them all. But there is no way that I shall send my brother to his death.

Now, what is another thing that bugs me is who is after him and what is it that he is supposed to possess.

Well, we have dear old Alatar that shall take us into the direction of the next danger that we shall face. The question now begs, do I attempt to do this on my own or get the help of our dear brothers. Though I firmly believe that they will not let him get out of this alive. So it seems that it shall only be the three of us that shall attempt to save Roberto from himself.

What else needs saving is me listening to Alatar trying to pick up my wife. I know this is perhaps where I should jump in and tell the man to back off, but I am not yet to upset a Warlock that possesses more power than a Coven combined.

But yes, if I thought that this mission should go unheard, I am soon pulled back to reality as my phone starts to vibrate. As I look down at the flashing screen, I cannot help but cringe. Now the longer I ignore this, the worse is the outcome. With very reluctant fingers, I swipe up and place the phone next to my ear.NôvelDrama.Org © content.

“My dear Dean, this is a pleasant surprise.”

I hear as his voice starts to rumble through the phone. Yes, this man is indeed rather furious, as he speaks with one pitch slightly too high, “Lucas, is there perhaps something that you are supposed to tell me?”

“Well,” I mumble as I hesitate, “Not that I know of. Is something the matter?”

This only but infuriates him more, and I can for certain say that he is about to explode, “You know exactly what is the matter. I just got word of a minor little slaughter in the South of London.”

“Perhaps there is an illegal Vampire gathering. They do still hold them in those empty warehouses.”

“You know that is not what I am referring to; you should know best,” he stops for a moment as he starts to firmly warn me. “You know that it is in your best interest not to lie to me.”

“Fine.” I huff as I am about to toss the damn thing out of the window, yet I continue, “Roberto does perhaps got a case of Blood Lust.”

“Perhaps? Or does he?”

“He does. We are on our way to find him. Alatar is with us at present to show us where we can find him.”

“Who the fuck is Alatar.”

I cannot help but chuckle, for I know already what the man’s reaction is going to be. “Alatar is a Warlock.”

Dean only but burst out in uncontrollable laughter, “Why on earth do you need a Warlock if I can tell you where to find Roberto?”

“Well, according to Alatar, there is another force that possesses Roberto. If there is anyone that can take what it is, then it shall be him.”

I hear Dean as he speaks to Sam, that is not very thrilled about this whole situation. After a minute of arguing between themselves, Dean speaks to me again. “Send me that location we are close by on a hunt.”

“It really is not…” I do not even get to finish what I am saying, and the man drops the call in my ear.

Now, this is not what I wanted. Both Cassidy and Alatar are not going to be happy with the Winchester boy’s presence. But this is, after all, what they are born to do, and there is no way I can stop them from coming here and do what it is that they do.

And that is killing Roberto.

So it is in absolute silence that I sit and ponder what I am going to do. I know that Cassidy is waiting for me to tell her whom I was talking to on the phone. But I can safely say that she knows by the expression of fear on my face that she should not say anything at present.

With the thought of concern playing through my mind, we travel back to the city as fast as these four wheels can carry us. And typical of the current mood, the skies burst open, and the rain starts to crash down and cover the earth in nothing but a wet blanket.

Then after what seems to be an hour, Alatar is the one to break the silence, “So Lucas, the young lady tells me that you are married? That is rather unusual for a Vampire.”

“Well, since when am I normal?”

“That is indeed true. I honestly thought that the woman must be possessed to give her life to a Vampire like you.”

I look at him in annoyance, “What type of Vampire are you referring to?”

“My dear Lucas, that is something that you will have to find out for yourself.”

I bring the car to a stop and turn to face him, “What are you talking about?”

“Your legacy, my friend.”

There is a cold shiver that runs over my spine as these words come from his mouth. This is not the first time that someone has said this, and I want to know what they are all fussing about, “What legacy? What is this that you are saying?”

“That I cannot tell you. It is written in the Ancient Book, yet part of the writing has been torn from it.”

“That is just perfect, so I am totally left in the dark.”

“Is that not how you prefer to live your life, on the edge?”

I only but smirk at him, “You are about to experience how I live that life on the edge.”

As we are finally approaching the city, I can feel the dread and the doom in the air as we all start to prepare ourselves for what lies ahead. Now, the only problem is that Roberto is no longer between the old warehouses; he, in fact, finds himself in Trafalgar Square. This poses a great problem for both the Hunters that shall shortly arrive and us.

The problem with Roberto exposing him in the state of Blood Lust is that his eyes shall be bloodshot, and his veins shall protrude clear from his skin. He shall have great difficulty in hiding his fangs as well. The chances of him attacking some civilian in public are quite high. We shall need to try and draw him closer to a far quieter part of the city. That in itself is going to be difficult, and from what Alatar has said, Roberto does possess great power from the evil that consumes him.

So not having to wait very long, we see the Impala of the Winchesters coming down the road. I can see Dean is driving with great urgency, and I know that this man is on a clear mission to get this destructive Vampire away from the humans.

He does not even stop to a complete standstill, and I have Sam rushing over to us, “Where is he now?”

“Well,” I only but shake my head at him, “Hello to you as well.”

Sam does not find this amusing at all as he steps only one step closer, and I find him clearly in my face, “Lucas, where is Roberto?”

“He is somewhere in The Square. We have not yet started looking for him. Now how do you suggest we do this?”‘

Dean that does not look as if his face has seen a smile in hours, comes to stand next to his brother. “We are five. There is nothing your Wizard can do.”

Alatar immediately interrupts him, “Do I look like a Wizard to you?”

“Well, you have a stick that you swing around in your hand.” There is a slight smile former around Dean’s face. “You can be glad I am not calling you a fairy. Now, you will stay here. Lucas, you come with me, and Cassidy can go with Sam.” Then Dean turns to Alatar once again, “Do you know what we can expect from what Roberto can do?”

Alatar only but shakes his head, “I will be very wary if I was you.”

With that, Dean only waves him off and pulls me by the arm, “Come, before your brother starts to slaughter the entire goddamn Square.”

So as we start walking in the direction of the middle of the Square, we pass every man that might look like Roberto with great disappointment. There seems to be absolutely no sight of him yet, but then from afar, we spot a man that is wearing a sweatshirt with a hoody.

“If I was Roberto,” Dean starts saying. “Then I would be hiding my face.”

It is with absolute haste that we start approaching a man that is headed into a rather big crowd of people. But just before we reach him, there is a sharp scream that echoes through the Square.
