Chapter 1043
Leo wasn't fazed at all. He just sat on a nearby stool, flashed a relaxed smile, and started tinkering with his laptop.
Anya glanced around at her classmates, clearly fed up. "If you guys are going to be there, count me out from now on."
"Anya, don't get upset. We just wanted to see if he's as good as they say. You're a bit naive, and we didn't want you getting tricked by some sketchy dude," another girl chimed in. Anya recognized her as a classmate but they weren't close. She wasn't buying that this girl genuinely cared; more likely, they were just here for the drama. "Ugh, what a bunch of fools."
Leo was tapping away on his keyboard, occasionally glancing up with a mischievous grin. Then, out of nowhere, the screen went dark.
Ross jumped in, "Do you even know what you're doing? If you're clueless, just admit it. I won't hold it against you."
Leo ignored him and kept working.
Ross then uncorked a bottle of red wine, poured a glass, and offered it to Leo. "Ever tried this before?"
Anya immediately grabbed the glass. "Ross, don't make me throw this in your face."
"Whoa, Anya. This wine's a rare find, worth a fortune. I only opened it to let your boyfriend have a taste," Ross said smugly.
Leo kept his easygoing smile. Clearly, Anya only bragged about his skills, which made sense; she was all about what he could do, nothing else mattered.
"Ms. Anya, have a seat," Leo said.
Anya pouted, feeling put out. "Chad! if I'd known, I wouldn't have dragged you here."
Leo gently pulled her down beside him.
Soon enough, the laptop screen flickered back to life, and the crowd watched in awe as Leo not only fixed it but also restored all the lost data.
Standing up, Leo looked at Ross, the redheaded guy, and offered some "friendly" advice, "You should steer clear of those dodgy websites. This was a hacker attack. Keep it up, and you might end up behind bars." Everyone gasped, eyes on Ross. Another guy pointed and blurted, "So your computer got busted because you were..."
Before he could finish, someone nudged him, and he clammed up.
Ross, red with embarrassment, spat back, "You're full of it!"
Leo casually handed the laptop to someone nearby. "Check the history if you think I'm bluffing."
Anya, ever curious, tried to join the fray, but Leo pulled her close, smiling like he'd already won. "Wow, Ross, you really..."
Before the sentence was finished, Rossnoveldrama
it shatched the laptop, slammed
it shut, and tossed it onto the table.
Gritting his teeth, he growled at Leo, "You're defaming me."
Anya seized the moment, taunting, "See something you're ashamed to admit to, huh? How disgraceful."
Ross, fuming, pointed at Leo, "Who the hell are you? Don't think you can walk away from this!"
The tension in the room was palpable, but Leo remained cool as a cucumber. "I'm Leo."
"No one cares about your name! I'm asking what your family does! You've crossed the line with me; you'll regret it."
Anya stepped up, fiercely protective.
Leo wrapped his arms around the restless Anya and said, "I'm from HavenBrook, part of the Cedillo family, Leo Cedillo from the Cedillo Group."
Ross was taken aback. The Cedillo Group? Leo Cedillo?
The girl from earlier stepped forward, "You're with the Cedillo family? Like Andre's Cedillo Group?"
Anya huffed, "Why, need Chad to show you a family album so you can figure out who his uncle or dad is?"
The classmates looked like they'd seen a ghost.
Still fuming, Anya tugged at Leo, ready to leave. "I'm done with these people."
Leo took a few steps, then paused, turned
ack to Ross, and said, "
right? So, you've got a thing for oss,
girlfriend."
