Chapter 39 What Else Do You Want?

Chapter 39 What Else Do You Want?

"Daddy!"

Richard's eyes tightened.

He thought Bonny was awake. However, she merely glanced at him drowsily. She pouted, turned over

and closed her eyes again. Soon, he heard her snore before she started breathing quietly again.

Richard was inexplicably relieved.

He found it funny that Bonny was sleeping soundly. He glanced aside and noticed that Brandon on the

sofa was up.

Bonny was murmuring in her sleep, but she woke up Brandon.

"You're awake?" Richard sat straight on the bed and stared at Brandon. There was only a short, fluffy

grey rug between them.

Brandon's eyes were unfocused, and he seemed a little drowsy. "Yes."

A child on his age would have yawned and gone back to sleep again. However, Brandon checked the

time on his watch, and became more clear when he looked up again. "It's late. I should go back with

Bonny."

"Let's wait for her to wake up." Richard nodded.

Brandon looked at Bonny, who was sleeping soundly next to Richard.

Richard noticed Brandon's hesitation in his eyes and pointed out, "You haven't eaten, right? I've

ordered some food. You can eat now if you're hungry. I'll send you back home after Bonny wakes up."

After a few seconds, Brandon nodded and hummed in response.

The lounge was connected to the office. Ted ordered dinner earlier, but the kids were sleeping. He did

not want to wake them.

Richard hadn't eaten yet. He was afraid that he would wake Bonny. So he went out to

eat with Brandon.

Brandon sitting on the other side was obviously mature beyond his peers. He was quiet and serious.

According to Ted, he stayed with his sister the whole afternoon. It seemed that he did not care about

anything but Bonny.

"You should eat more." Richard cut half of the steak on his plate and put it to Brandon's.

"Thanks."

Richard remembered at Evelina's birthday party, Brandon stood in front of him asked for a favor calmly.

He was suddenly confused.

"Why did you say I'm your father the other day?"

Richard's voice is clear tobe heard in the big office.

Brandon blinked, paused for a second and slowly looked up, "Because my mommy was framed by my

aunt and needed help."

He answered briefly. It made sense, but it sounded that he was avoiding the topic. While, it made

sense for a seven-year-old to say that.

But Richard knew he was very sharp and perceptive. He even doubted that he knew something but

said this on purpose. So Richard asked again, "There were a lot of people at the party, why me?"

"Because you are the only one that I knew."

Richard's eyes stagnated and stared at him.

He dated Pearl for five years. From high school to college, there are countless photos and

memories. Even though he destroyed most of them after breaking up. He still kept a photo, tore it up

and put it together again.

Probably she did the same...

"You knew me before?"

Brandon looked at him and answered, "Bonny and I met you at the pharmacy on that rainy day."

The infant voice echoed in the office.

Richard's face stiffened. "The pharmacy..."

"Any more questions?" Brandon was composed.

"No." Richard frowned, and his eyes darkened. "Just eat."

He thought that there were some other reasons.

He imagined various sections that Pearl would tell the kids about him and his relationship with the kids.

But, it was ridiculous that he even made those assumptions. Why could he not let it go?

He was caught in his own thinking when he heard the noisy sound.

"Who are you? You are anot allowed to go in."

...

"Security! Security!"

...

With a loud bang, the door of the office was pushed open from the outside. A slender figure staggered

in. She was wearing a pair of jeans and a white T-shirt. She looked very anxious.

After breaking into the door, Pearl saw Brandon on the sofa, and walked to him quickly. "Brandon!"

Brandon put down his cutlery and stared at her in amazement. "Mommy."

"Brandon." Pearl gasped and shot Richard a stern look. She asked Brandon solemnly, "Where is

Bonny?"

"She's inside."

Pearl went into the room without a word at once.

"Mr. Zellweger, this young lady suddenly barged in. I..." Mia came running from outside and explained

hurriedly.

Richard waved his hand and let Mia out. His eyes focused on the man who came in with Pearl, and

Richard's eyes turned cold.

Alex also focused on him. His handsome face was no longer warmth as he frowned.

The air was still, and no one spoke. A dangerous smell surrounded them, and It seemed like they were

going to pounce on each other.

Pearl carried Bonny out of the room, with her pale face.

Brandon also got up from the sofa and ran to her. "Mommy."

Pearl held his hand and turned to leave without looking at Richard. "Alex, let's go."Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Richard knew that the kids ran out without permission, so he could understand Pearl's reaction. But

she was about to leave with saying nothing to him. Moreover, she was ignoring him, which made him

upset.

What'smore, Alex showed up with her. which recalled his painful memories. His anger was hiding under

his cold face.

"Stop!." His cold words froze the office.

Pearl stopped at the door with Bonny in her arms. She did not look back, just said in a cold voice. "Mr.

Zellweger, what else do you want?"

Richard got up from the sofa and stood upright with a cold tone. "Pearl, you broke into my office, and

you're leaving without saying a word? Now you're even asking me what I want?"

Pearl gritted her teeth, slowly turned to face him and pressed her anger. "Richard, when I came home

from work, I found that my son and daughter were missing. If there was no GPS, I would have called

the police now. What else do you want me to say?"

Richard immediately understood. Anger crept into his cold eyes, but he did not explain himself. Instead,

he mocked, "What do you think I'm doing?"

His understate attitude made Pearl even angrier.

"Richard!" She suddenly raised her voice, then she realized that the children were around. So she

covered Bonny's ears with her hands and lowered her volume. Then she warned in a trembling voice,

"Richard, I've told you that the children have nothing to do with you. Stop making a fool of yourself!"

Since the kids were around, Pearl could only suppress her emotions, and she stared at Richard with

her bloodshot eyes.
