Chapter 23 : Bravo To The Guard!

Chapter 23 : Bravo to the guard!
It was noon when Micaela returned home.
She washed the new clothes and laid them out, took the quilt out onto the balcony, and then had a
quick bite to eat.
Taking a seat on the couch, she took out her phone and flipped through the contact book, stopping at
Carlos' name, she hesitated for a while before exiting the app.
She couldn't just sit there doing nothing, because she'd get too scratched if she had nothing to do.
Micaela got up and cleaned the whole house until it was spotless, and only then was she content to
stop.
Just after she sat down on the sofa, again the idea of calling Carlos came to her mind....
Micaela felt like she was going crazy....
But at that moment the phone rang.
Micaela looked at her phone and, as soon as she saw the name, she felt a little disappointed....
Micaela calmed her mind before picking up the phone.
-Hello, Delfina.
Delfina was Micaela's partner at the internship company and her only friend when she worked there. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
-Micaela, have you found a job yet? -Delfina asked.
Micaela grabbed a pillow to hug and cradled it in her arms.
-Yes, I just found it, I start tomorrow.
-Congratulations, I knew you'd find a job soon!
-Thank you. Were you calling me about something?
-Oh, I lost my job....
Micaela was startled.
-How?
-Marcos' shares were bought out and he lost a lot of money.
-Isn't he the biggest shareholder of the company? Who bought him out?
Micaela was just curious and had no more feelings for Marcos.
-I don't know, but the bosses of the company are at odds and all the factories of the company have
been closed and the company is in a mess.
-That's really serious...
-Yes! For me, it's all the fault of that Adriana! Since she started as an ambassador for our new product,
the company has gone downhill! She must be jinxed!
Delfina spoke with indignation.
Was she jinxed?
Micaela laughed.
After talking to Delfina about her job search and wishing her luck in finding it, she hung up the phone.
Leaning back on the couch, Micaela stared at the ceiling, thinking there was something strange about
all this... What was strange? She couldn't quite put her finger on it....
Micaela fell asleep on the couch.
She was awakened by a phone call.
It usually didn't ring for days, but today it was ringing quite frequently.
Micaela rubbed her eyes, saw it was Alba calling and looked outside, it was dark.
-Alba...
-Micaela, where are you? I'm getting off the plane, I'm with you now!
Micaela gave Alba the address, and although she was curious as to how Micaela could be in that
neighborhood, she didn't think much of it, thinking there would be time to ask later, so she hung up the
phone and addressed her.
This style of doing things fast really didn't go well with her name!
Micaela thought so more than once.
Half an hour later, there was a knock at the door and Micaela opened it to be greeted by a fragrant hug.
-Micaela, I've missed you so much!
It was a while before Alba let go of Micaela and looked at her closely, and Micaela looked at her friend
with slightly reddened eyes.
She had a tiny face, big eyes and a familiar teasing expression on her face:
-Well, here the girls are prettier, those foreign girls, tsk, tsk.....
Micaela laughed.
Taking her into the room and sitting down, Alba immediately got to the point.
-Well, I'm back, baby, come cry in my arms!
And with that, she opened her arms.
-When you're done crying, we'll go out and celebrate. Lucky you've broken up with that scum!
Micaela was in a good mood and gave Alba a rare playful look.
-I'm not going to cry for him! I'm the one who dumped him!
Indeed, Alba was shocked for quite a while and was slow to react.
-Oh my God, Micaela, you're amazing! You've grown so much in a year! You finally see what it's like,
don't you?
Micaela nodded and slowly told him briefly about the latest events, skipping only the part about Carlos.
She still hadn't been able to resolve her feelings for him, so maybe it was better not to worry her best
friend, because maybe there wouldn't even be more to say on the matter....
-Your cousin really is mean! Oh, how could there be such a person! Why didn't you tell me? I would
have flown back and slapped him in the face!
Alba spoke with indignation and then immediately followed up with a question.
-What about yesterday, when Marcos was stopped by the security guard?
Micaela rolled her head shyly and looked around, vaguely.
-And today I found out that he's getting engaged to Adriana!
Successfully changing the subject, Alba slapped her thighs and exclaimed.
-Bravo to the guard! That couple of sons of bitches are not going to end well!

Carlos, described as the security guard, was standing in the office of the president of the Grupo
Aguayo building, looking out the French windows at the night view and frowning.
He pulled out his cell phone and dialed the number.
-Dear Mr. Aguayo, do you still remember me after all this time?
The flirtatious voice of his friend Ernesto Mancebo came through the phone.
-Well, it's been a long time, and you sound as disgusting as ever.
-Hey, that I'm the second best bachelor in Teladia after you, how many beautiful women's hearts would
break if you hit on me!
-Let's have a drink together in the evening.
-Ok, I'm at Moontime, are you coming or shall I pick you up?
-Wait for me.
Carlos turned around and left the office, Diego was waiting for him in the outer office.
-Sir, Ms. Athens just called and invited you to come in....
-Don't tell me anything about her in the future!
Carlos frowned at the woman's last name and refused without hesitation.
-All right...
Diego also hated this Miss Athens and wouldn't have answered the phone if it weren't for his father.
-I'll drive back myself, you can leave work early.
Carlos took the exclusive elevator straight to the subway parking garage and got into his car, still
unconsciously looking at the jewelry box that had been sitting in the corner on the passenger side since
yesterday.
There seemed to be a faint whiff of it in the car....
Moontime wasn't the biggest bar in Teladia, but it was the classiest and most elegant.
It was no wonder that the people who came here were rich and famous, and it was no wonder to see a
popular celebrity here.
In addition, the bar system attached great importance to the privacy of the customers, even if you were
a journalist, you could not report what happened here without authorization.
Because of this, Teladia's upper classes liked to come here to relax.
As they approached the heavy glass doors, the waiters on either side immediately opened them.
The noise and flashing lights inside caused Carlos to frown and the waiting waiter immediately stepped
forward to lead the way.
-Mr. Aguayo, Mr. Mancebo is waiting for you upstairs, please.
