Chapter 17
Chapter 17
Vivianna hugged him tightly. Only God knew how frightened she was just now. Linda sighed as she stood beside them. "It's not easy to raise a child alone. Zeph, look at your mommy. She was so scared that she almost called the police. Don't simply leave and run around the next time."
"I'm sorry, mommy. I'm sorry. I won't run around again." Zephaniah was also frightened. He didn't expect that mommy would be so worried.
Linda stepped forward and patted Vivianna gently. "Alright, you can relax now. The child is back."
Vivianna was still traumatized, and she needed a few seconds to recover. Then, she stretched out her hand to push the little guy out from her embrace and she looked at him in a stern manner.
"Where have you been?" she questioned him.
"Mommy, I... I didn't go anywhere! I only went to have a look at that building opposite!" After saying that, he pointed to the majestic pyramid-shaped building.
Vivianna was scared out of her wits. She scolded him, "How can you run so far away? There are so many cars and people on the streets. What if someone kidnaps you?"
Although the little guy had his reasons, he didn't dare to tell her, out of fear that his mommy would be angry again. He raised his little hand and promised her, "I won't go again in the future, Mommy."
Vivianna sighed, but she still held him tightly in her arms again. He was more precious to her than her own life. If she hit him or scolded him, her heart would hurt even more. Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
This false alarm caused Vivianna's heart to palpitate, as she felt a sense of fear and dread for the next few hours.
She banned him from going anywhere. She asked the little guy to draw, write and most importantly, remain in her office. The little guy was obedient and he drew something quietly in her office. He had probably inherited his mother's talent. His drawings were excellent for such a young age.
Vivianna had many old drafts that were not used previously, and her designs were crafted with profound meaning. Therefore, she chose a few of them and modified them, perfecting them into proper designs. That night, she handed these designs over to Linda.
Linda was very satisfied with them. Now, she had to wait for Jessamyn's inspection.
In the evening, Vivianna returned home with her son, and she lectured him again. The little guy felt
aggrieved, but he did not dare to tell her the truth.
Vivianna could not bear to reprimand him so harshly. After saying a few stern words, she cooked pasta for him to eat. After dinner, the little guy fell asleep in her arms.
Vivianna brought him to bed and covered him with the quilt. Looking at this pinkish and adorable face, she was absolutely contented.
When she returned to the living room, she didn't feel sleepy at all. She sat on the sofa and she thought about her design drafts. Maybe Jessamyn would simply use an excuse to make things difficult for her.
In fact, no matter how perfect her design was, Jessamyn could still find many excuses if she was not satisfied. Perhaps her purpose was to make her lose this job.
Vivianna was a little distressed. She couldn't lose her current job as she still had a son to raise.
Although she had some savings from the past two years, it was far from enough. She wanted to provide her son with a comfortable life.
In the hospital.
In the afternoon, Assistant Yallop had sent the strands of hair to the hospital. There was an urgent matter to tend to, and she returned to the company to settle it.
When she was about to go to the hospital to collect the report, she was told that the doctor had got off work, and the report was locked in the room.
She had no choice but to pick it up early the next morning.
Early in the morning.
Vivianna woke up on time. When she woke up, she brushed her teeth quickly, washed her face and made breakfast for her son. In the past few years, her culinary skills had improved greatly. In order to prepare nutritious meals for her son, she had also participated in some training courses abroad. She learned a lot from these courses.
Zephaniah also got up on his own. He dressed up, washed his face, and brushed his teeth. There was no need for Vivianna to worry about him.
"Wow, mommy, it smells so good!" Zephaniah exclaimed.
"Then we'll finish all of the food. Don't waste anything." Vivianna kissed his hair with a smile.
