Chapter 106
“What do you mean? I don’t understand.” Jenna said, feigning confusion while carefully masking her true motives.
Lola didn’t want to waste time. She had just woken up not long ago, but she wasn’t a fool.
She could still see Jenna’s intention to distract Ethan.
“Ethan won’t take long, even if he’s out getting supplements. So, if you’ve got something to say to me, best get to the point. Once Ethan’s back, you won’t have the chance.”
Lola looked at Jenna indifferently, speaking calmly.
“You…” Jenna’s eyes darted, a flash of something unusual passing through them.
“If you’ve already figured it out, then there’s no point in hiding is But Layla, remember, I’m your sister. I wouldn’t hurt you. What I wanted to tell you….
“Actually, never mind. If they haven’t told you, they must have their reasons.”
Jenna hesitated, seeming reluctant to speak, but she clearly showed that she wanted to talk about the Lewis family.
Lola frowned slightly, “What do you want to tell me?”
Jenna looked troubled. “Layla, I. I just feel sorry for you being kept in the dark. I don’t know why they’re deceiving you, but if you trust me, I can tell you that Dad, Mom, and Ethan have been lying to you all along!”
Lola had thought Jenna might secretly share something with her, but she hadn’t expected such shocking news.
“That’s impossible.” Lola avoided Jenna’s gaze.
She wouldn’t easily believe Jenna’s words, nor would she readily distrust her parents and Ethan.
Jenna forced a smile. “Didn’t you just distract Ethan to hear what I had to say? Why don’t you believe me when I actually tell you?”
“Jenna, we’re family. Why are you saying this?” Lola’s suspicion lingered.
“If you don’t believe what I said, you wouldn’t have given me this opportunity to speak, right?
“If you don’t believe me, you can test them as I suggested. That should be fine, right?” Jenna’s eyes held a mysterious look as she gazed at Lola.
Lola pressed her lips, saying nothing more.

details.
But Lola dared not think about it. If even her most trusted family were deceiving her, she had no one left to trust.
After a long silence, Lola lifted her head, looking at Jenna as if she had made up her mind.

It was nearing evening when Lola and Ethan finally left the hospital.
“Did Jenna say anything to you while I was away?”
The car stopped outside the gates of Silverbrook Tower, and Ethan looked at Lola, who was in no hurry to get out.
Lola was puzzled and asked, “Should Jenna have said something to me?”
Lola’s question slightly startled Ethan, who then chuckled and said, “No, not really. I was just asking. After all, Jenna has hurt. you before, and I’m worried she might do something to you.” Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Lola frowned, “But you said it yourself. Those were things that happened when we were very young. Besides, Jenna seems to have realized her mistakes. I don’t think she’ll hurt me again.
“So, Ethan, is there something you’re afraid of me finding
out?”
Ethan’s expression froze for a moment, looking at Lola in disbelief.
“Layla…why would you say that? Of course not. We haven’t hidden anything from you. It must have been something Jenna told you, right? What did Jenna say to you?
“Layla, if it was indeed something Jenna said, you mustn’t believe her. She’s not trustworthy.”
Lola’s lips curled into a faint smile as she clarified, “No, I was just amused by how on edge you looked, so I thought I’d have a little fun. I didn’t expect you to get so flustered.”
“Oh, you were just joking? I thought Jenna might have told you something she shouldn’t have.”
Ethan hid the unusual look in his eyes and smiled, “Well, it’s good she kept to herself. Jenna’s not honest, and if she says. anything inappropriate, you mustn’t believe her.”
Lola, too, veiled the flicker of something unusual in her gaze, choosing to remain silent.
“By the way, I’m having dinner with Scott tonight, so don’t wait up.”
Ethan’s eyes held a complex mix of feelings as he looked at Lola. “Layla, you and Scott seem quite close these days. Have you two decided to be together?”
Dominick hadn’t returned, and he had lost contact with him. If Lola and Scott got engaged or married during this time, he would probably be very upset.
“Well, it’s not that. Scott just asked me out, and I accepted.
“Ethan, I always feel like you have something to tell me. Why can’t you just say it directly?”
Ethan’s eyes conveyed complicated feelings. “Nothing. I just don’t want you to be unhappy. Your happiness is all that
matters,”
Lola was dropped off outside Jensen Villa by the driver, but she hesitated to go
1. in.
Tommy, you can head back. I’m having dinner with Scott, and it might be too late. It doesn’t seem fair to have you waiting around for me.
“And don’t worry, I’m already outside at Jensen Villa door. It’s completely safe here–Nothing to worry about. I’ll give you a call before I head back.
“How about you come pick me up after my call? Is that alright?”
Since Layla asked gently, the driver certainly had to agree.
“Alright, Ms. Lewis, as you wish. But what about Mr. Lewis… Tommy hesitated, looking at Lola
“Don’t worry, I won’t say anything random to Ethan. I’ll tell him you’ve been here waiting for me all along.”
Lola watched the driver leave, the smile in her eyes slowly fading
“Please tell the butler I need to see Scott.”
When Scott heard that Lola had come to see him, his face lit up with unmistakable excitement.
“Layla! What brings you here out of the blue? You should’ve given me a heads up! I would’ve come to pick you up!”
Lola’s eyes were filled with complicated emotions as she looked at Scott.
“Scott, let’s go to a cafe and talk,” she said.
Scott could tell that something was wrong with Lola, but he didnt ask any questions. He simply led her to a quiet coffee shop.
“Layla, is there something you need to tell me? What is going on Scott asked, a sense of foreboding in his heart. Judging from the situation, he was afraid that something bad had happened.
This was the first time Lola had ever sought out Scott on her own, so it was no wonder that he was puzzled.
Lola placed her hands on her lap and kept her head down, lost in thought.
