Chapter 51 Win Some, Lose Somet
Upon hearing this, Mia couldn’t help but raise her eyebrows and look at Vanessa with a half–smile.
The smile on Vanessa’s face froze instantly. She instinctively turned her head to look at the old lady beside her. She felt uneasy yet hopeful.
In contrast, Madam Adam’s expression remained calm. She looked at Vanessa and said softly, “Ms. Gatlin has a point. We must be willing to accept the loss. Since we can’t win, we can only admit defeat.”
Vanessa never expected this response from Madam Adam. Her eyes welled up with tears. She stared coldly at Maggie and asked, “What have you done?”
The look in Maggie’s eyes was cold. She replied with a smile, “No comment.”
Vanessa’s nails dug into her palm. She never expected that Maggie could actually do it. But how did she do it? How did she manage to tarnish Madam Adam’s reputation?
“Tsk, it seems that someone is destined not to get what they want,” Mia spoke softly. Her posture was seductive and alluring, and every gesture exuded captivating charm.
For a moment, the necklace around Vanessa’s neck felt like a burden.
With tears in her eyes, she yanked it off and threw it back onto the velvet tray on the table. She warned, “Don’t get ahead of yourself.”
Mia bent down to pick up the necklace. The exquisite piece in her hand looked like a work of art.
However, there was no trace of appreciation in her eyes. She casually twirled it around, as if the object held no value.
“Relax, Ms. Brown. I’ll only be happy to acquire this trinket for three days at most. It’s not worth. my time.”
“You!”
Vanessa was so furious that her lips were trembling.
Madam Adam stood up and said, “There’s no point in arguing. Vanessa, remember, don’t ever regret what you’ve lost.”
Vanessa pretended to be obedient, but her heart was filled with bitterness.
But if I never owned something, how could I lose it?
Mia looked at Madam Adam and said, “Thank you for your understanding.”
Madam Adam simply nodded. Her expression was flat, and she said nothing more.
After Vanessa and Madam Adarn left, Mia immediately wrapped her arms around Maggie’s neck and gave her a kiss on the check.
“Maggie, you’re amazing!”

Maggie was dizzy from the kiss. She gave Mia a glance before laughing lightly and asking, “Can I take that as a compliment?”
“Of course, tell me how you did it.” Mia was no longer as indifferent as before. The truth was, she was eager
to know.
“I’m friends with the main designer of this brand. She’s always wanted to recruit me, but I never agreed. When she was designing this collection, she was lacking inspiration. During our casual conversation, she
with a new idea and thought my name should be credited for this work.”

Maggie briefly explained. Although she used the name ‘Madagic to maintain a low profile, it was not exactly a secret.
She rarely showed her face in public, but she had connections with many designers.
In Maggie’s opinion, Blaire’s insistence on adding her name to the credits was a bit excessive. After all, inspiration was a very personal and spontaneous thing. Even if she could provide direction, it might not necessarily align with her style. Design, after all, depends on oneself.
“Maggie, you’re truly amazing!” Mia said with pride, as if she were a doting mother and her daughter had finally achieved something on her own after years of hard work.
Maggie was speechless.
“Hey, I know what you’re going to do. If you didn’t get the necklace, you were going to smash it to vent your rage, Maggie teased with a chuckle.
Mia touched her nose and asked, “How did you know?”
God knows she was about to explode with anger at that moment. If it weren’t for the fear of dragging Maggie down with her, she would have smashed the necklace on the spot.
Generosity? Sorry, I don’t possess that quality.
I want it, don’t I?
If I can’t have it, then I’ll destroy it!
In short, anyone who tries to take something from me can forget about it!
The following day, Maggie returned home with her belongings, particularly a stack of design drafts.
Upon her arrival, only Madam Cameron and Sierra were present at home.
Upon seeing Maggie carrying things, Madam Cameron quickly called for the servants to assist. She scolded, “What are you all staring at? Help Maggie with her things.”
“It’s alright, Grandma. These are design drafts. I don’t trust others to handle them, so I’ve been carrying them myself,” Maggie explained softly.
Sierra, who was playing games on the sofa, paused for a moment. She took advantage of Maggie turning around and glanced at the light purple folder in her hand.

“In that case, take the drafts and the computer by yourself. We can’t afford any mistakes,” Madam Cameron quickly corrected herself.
“Don’t worry, Grandma. Can you have Mrs. Brooks take care of me for a few days? I haven’t been eating well lately. I might need her to prepare some meals and late–night snacks for me,” Maggic paused and spoke with Madam Cameron.
Before Madam Cameron could respond, Sierra leaped up from the sofa and shouted angrily.
“Why? Mrs. Brooks has always taken care of me. She’s my maid!“.
Maggie was stunned and asked in confusion, “Isn’t Mrs. Brooks working for our family? I sec… I’m outsider after all. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have considered these things.”

She changed her tone and adopted a dejected expression.
“Maggie, why are you acting like that? There are so many maids in the house, couldn’t they serve you? You’re doing this on purpose! You want to take everything away from me, but it won’t happen!” Sierra shouted furiously.
Madam Cameron scolded, “Sierra! Why are you causing a scene? Your sister is busy taking care of family matters. All you do is play games at home. You don’t have anything important to do. Let Mrs. Brooks take care of your sister for a while.”
Sierra was fuming. She turned her head and grabbed Madam Cameron’s arm. She whined and acted cute, “Grandma! I disagree. You know, I’ve always loved the food Mrs. Brooks makes. If you take her away, how am I supposed to live?”
Madam Cameron always favored her. She was swayed by her tantrum.
Maggie cast her gaze downwards and spoke softly, “I also enjoy Mrs. Brooks’s cooking, but… I rarely had the opportunity to taste it.”
Madam Cameron’s demeanor immediately changed upon hearing her remark. She said to Sierra, “Haven’t you had plenty of it since you were a child? Mr. Alfred can cook a wide variety of dishes as well. Mrs. Brooks hasn’t cooked in a long time, so her skills may have deteriorated a bit. Besides, she will naturally bring a small portion of whatever she cooks to you.”
Sierra was so angry that she couldn’t find her words. She released her grip on Madam Cameron’s arm and sat on the sofa, glaring at Maggie.
From a hidden vantage point, Maggie flashed a triumphant smile. Sierra’s anger intensified when she noticed it
Urghh! My god!
That b*tch! Maggie is despicable.
Maggie turned around and ascended the stairs. She was silently plotting everything. The fish was about to take the bait. The Herschire Cultural Park project would be the first gift she presented to the Camerons after her rebirth.
