His Cure

New car

Huh?

Beatrice twinkled her eyes.

“Driver?”she raised a brow and he nodded.

“Okay. Let’s go.”she cleared her throat.

“Ermm.. ma’am, the key.”he asked.

“Key?”she scoffed.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

“Yes. The boss said the key to your new car is with you.”he stated.

Beatrice’s eyes widened out.

New car?!!

She dipped her hand inside her bag and brought out the keys he gave her.

“You mean.. this?”she jingled the keys in his face.

“Of course, ma’am. The key to your Lamborghini car.”

Beatrice couldn’t believe her ears.

Lam.. borghini?

For real?!!!

She pressed the button on it and a black car few miles away beeps.

She still couldn’t believe it.

He bought her the car too?!!

Woah.. this guy is willing to go to any length to make it seem like they are actually in love.

“Ma’am?. Is there anything wrong?”the driver asked, tilting his head to the side.

“No. Let’s go.”she gulped hard.

So, she is now a car owner now?

With a personal guard who is also her driver?

All this doesn’t seems real to her.

Perhaps she is lost in her fantasy world.

She proceeded to the car and before she could open it, the driver already did.

“I can get my car doors by myself. You don’t have to do this in the future.”she told him before stepping inside.

The driver shuts the door after that.

Mama Mercy…

She felt goosebumps rose on her skin..

The car is extraordinarily cool.

He got inside the driver’s seat and started driving out of the compound.

“What’s your name?”she asked him.

“My name is Michael, ma’am.”

She nodded gently.

**

They got to the hospital where Winifred is.

Micheal followed Beatrice inside but stood outside, in front of the door to Winnie’s ward.

“Baby…”Winifred squeaked lowly.

Beatrice nodded a little and went to her side.

“How are you feeling now?”

“I’ve always felt good. You’re just the one exaggerating it a little. I’m fine, for real. You don’t have to come here everyday.”Winifred sat up gently and rests her back on the wall.

“But, I think that’s a good one too, as I get to see your beautiful face every day.”she beamed.

“I’m sorry, Winnie. I–”

Winifred scoffed.

“I really don’t know what you’re sorry for, gurl. It wasn’t your fault! You didn’t know the juice was poisoned. Besides, I think it’s great I was the one that drank it not you. Hardship makes love become stronger. “She winked at her.

Beatrice inhaled.

“I am not a–”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. Just try to play along even if it is for once. Don’t be too serious.”Winifred sighed.

Beatrice chuckled before helping her move the strand of hair that was blocking her right eye away.

Winifred shook a little but suddenly rolled her eyes.

“You absolutely cannot do that again, Beatrice. It would only make me love you more or think you’re my girlfriend.”she huffed.

“Well, I apologize.”Beatrice grinned.

“So, have you eaten?”

Winifred glanced at her and blushed.

“No. The nurse tried to feed me but I declined. Since you said you would be coming, I decided to wait for you to come feed me.”she covered her face.

Beatrice rolled her eyes.

“Where is your food?”

Winifred pouts her mouth.

“Right there.”she pointed to a table.

Beatrice walked to it and carried the tray of food on it before going back to her.

**

Gregory walked inside his office, absent mindedly.

“Boss.”a male voice called behind him and he flinched back.

He stared back at the person and realized it was Harry.

“Since when did you start calling me boss?”he scoffed and strode towards his seat then plunged himself down on it.

“Well.. were you taken off guard?. What are you thinking?”Harry moved to him and he rolled his eyes.

“Nothing. Can I ask you one question?”

“Sure, go on.”Harry rubbed his temple.

“Can a day trip changed a person?”

Harry chortled.

“Well… it depends. Yes, it could. No, it could not. It totally depends on the person.”

Gregory picked his pen from the table and rotates it in his hand.

“She is kind of gentle and.. easy to be intimidated. Then, after coming back from a a day trip that was supposed to last for three days, she suddenly changed.”

“You’re talking about Beatrice, aren’t you?”Harry caught on.

Gregory sighed.

“You know what?. Don’t worry. What do you want?”

“People changes when they experienced something too. It could be pains or any other thing. The pains would then make them stronger. It happens. Since it’s Beatrice, it might be because of Winifred’s poisoning case.”

Gregory nodded.

“Beatrice said she is suspecting Jennifer instead. She doesn’t believes the guy was the one that tried to poison her.”

Harry strained his eyes at him before smacking his lips.

“Jennifer could do that, truly.”Harry supported.

“There is nothing wrong in verifying too. After all, your wife was almost poisoned here.”

Gregory rolled his eyes.

“And, now she is scaring me to death with her new attitude. She is suddenly trying to get closer to me. She almost pec..”he stopped talking after seeing the big smile on Harry’s face.

“You don’t understand. Only I can understand. And, I won’t tell you why she is doing that. As an husband and a father, I know women just too well.”he boasted.

“Ei?, husband?. Gomez is just your baby mama.”

“Things are about to work between us now.”he grinned.

Gregory chuckled.

“No wonder you’ve been playing around like a kitten these days.”

“That aside, find out why Beatrice is doing that yourself.”

“Why are you here?”

“To greet you a ‘good morning” of course. I will return back to my work now.”he smiled and went out.

Gregory stared out in frustration.

He was still bothered by Beatrice attitude, now it’s Harry’s turn?

Damn this.

**

Beatrice left after spending about two hours with Winifred.

As her car drove out, Olivia’s own came right in.

She placed a knock on Winnie’s ward.

“Come in.”she heard her faint voice.

She went inside.

Winifred scoffed a little.

“What are you doing here?”

“You are sick.”

“Hmm?. I don’t need you to pity me, Olivia.”she rolled her eyes to the side.

“Why are you doing this to me, Winifred?. I like and still care about you?. Why are you trying to shut me out?”

Winifred closed her eyes.

“Because I don’t want to make the same mistake over again. You’re a toxic lover, Olive.”
