Chapter 28 Showing Her Authority
The silence that followed was deafening that one could hear the sound the cricket were making far away. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
I glared at the scene in horor__ The blood spilled on the floor, Yeon ho cold body and what infuriated me more, the damn smirk plastered on my father ‘s face. It is a smirk of accomplishment for him at freeing his people but a smirk of mockery for me at killing my lover.
This couldn’t be happening. My body refused to believe the scene in front of me. I shook my head frantically and couldn’t control the tears that wail down my cheek uncontrollable
He died right before my eyes and I couldn’t do anything but stand as I watched him getting killed for my selfishness.
Ku Soha moved closer and leaned closer to my ear as she whispered. “I hope you understand how it feels now and to comment, that death really suit him”
Hearing that from her mouth, I looked at her angrily, the vein in my neck popping out. My eyes changed colour to red, the same colour as Yeong ho eyes and were glowing brightly before turning golden.
Ku Soha moved back seeing this and shakily asked. “What are you doing?” I couldn’t miss the fear in her voice. She was probably horrified at my eyes.
“It’s pointless to know when you are going to die anyway?” I growled snarky.
I don’t think I am the one in control of my body, it seems like another person is controlling me but it certainly is me.
She turned to run for her life but she couldn’t make it far when suddenly she was in flames. She was burning as if someone set her on fire but I was still standing in the same place. I didn’t even move an inch. Her scream filled the room as she rolled on the ground. Everyone releases the most ear-wrecking scream at the sight.
So bad. it is so sad she had to die in such a way. She should have enjoyed the easiest death I chose for her earlier.
The sight was horrifying and my eyes were busy scrutinizing the place looking for the next victim. Everyone hurdle together in fear and the guards immediately surround me, aiming their sword at me.
I look up toward my father and the look I see in his eyes is terrifying, his heart must have certainly leaped out of his chest by now, seeing his beloved daughter in a demonic form but I haven’t done anything yet. I took a step forward but the guards also took a step forward at me, as a warning for me to stop.
“Stop moving Your highness” The head guards said in a shaky voice. I didn’t let his stupid warning stop me as I tried to move forward again but he unsheathed his sword aiming it at me as well.
It was as if I was in the middle of the battlefield where the enemies gathered their weapons against me after being defeated.
“I said stop moving” he repeated with a louder voice but his voice betrayed him as it came out in a terrifying tone.
“Stop me if you can,” I said, moving forward.
He rushed at me, ready to swing his sword but before he could get to me he was already on the floor in a pool of his own blood. I didn’t raise my hand on him either.
Everyone releases another earth shattering scream. All the remaining guards moved back seeing their leader dead, fear clearly showing in their face.
Seeing no one obstructing my path, I resumed my march toward my father but the one that decided to stop me next was my brother.
He immediately stood in front of me, spreading his arm. “Don’t do this Suk” He whispered, tears brimming in his eyes.
The fire in my eyes still remains there, my eyes still rotating in its golden color.
“Move” I warned him.
He shakes his head and the unshed tears in his eyes stream down his cheek.
He moved forward to me but before getting closer to me, my hand found its way around his neck and I lifted him off the ground. His leg dangling in the air as he chokes uncontrollably. His air lung blocked with his eyes almost popping out of its socket, lace with tears.
“You don’t have any right to stop me,” I said in a deep growl.
My brother’s eyes turned red as he silently begged me to let him go, my grip only tightened more.
“Su.. k.. pl…ease. I am b…” he swallowed his words back. He stopped struggling and surrendered himself.
My grip tightened more hearing his plea and surrender and I decided to grant him his request. I was about to snap his head when I heard a loud voice behind me.
“Stop!”
Heaven. Another person to stop me, I thought menacingly as I turned back to look at the one who dared interrupt me only to see my mother.
Mother stood a metre from me, tears filled her face and her cloth was stained with blood. My eyes roamed her body and I couldn’t find her baby bump again. What the hell happened to her.
Mother moved a bit closer to me and the answer to my puzzle lay with her walking. She walked slowly, parting her legs as if she was afraid to close them and that gave me my answer that mother just gave birth. Then what is she doing? Someone must have gone and informed her about me.
She stops in front of me and kneels down. My eyes remain cold but I started feeling a strange feeling of guilt inside me.
“Suk, It’s your mother. Please stop it. Your younger brother who you used to promise to protect won’t be happy to find out his sister caused havoc to people on the day he was born. So please for my sake” mother said with continuous tears rolling down her cheek.
My body refused to surrender it’s anger but mother smile at me understandingly_ much more understandingly. It was one of those rare smile with quality of eternal reassurance in it, that I have never come across in her lips before.
My heart breaks seeing my mother on the ground begging me. Nothing hurt more than seeing tears in your mother eyes. No mother in the world should experience what my mother has experienced today but hearing her soothing voice my body began coming back into control. I released my grip on my brother’s neck and he dropped to the ground coughing and gasping for air.
Mother release a breath of relief. She started walking toward me but before she could get to me, my head started spinning and before I could get myself together everywhere become blurry and darkness engulfed me.
