Chapter 590
Chapter 590
Linda smiled, a warmth spreading through her as she thought about how long she'd been waiting for this day. As the clock struck five in the evening, guests were already streaming in by the dozen.
Being nearly nine months pregnant, Linda couldn't stand for long, so she stayed away from the door, leaving the greetings to others. Lucas wasn't there either. He had no desire to host this wedding. Linda, on the other hand, was adamant about making it a grand affair, something everyone would talk about. Lucas couldn't wrap his head around her motives. But he knew he just had to hang in there for a couple more months. Once Linda had the baby, he planned to divorce her, give her some money, and send her overseas. In his mind, that was more than fair.
In the dressing room, Linda admired her reflection. The white gown and veil were exactly how she'd imagined them in her dreams. Her secret, hidden from the world and misunderstood by those around her, was her own. But she longed to stand by her side proudly and openly. This was her shot.
Joy bubbled up inside Linda as Lucas walked in and caught her smiling softly, lost in her thoughts. His voice dripped with sarcasm as he spoke, “Linda, what kind of dirty thoughts are you cooking up now? Would you dare to share them with everyone? Would you? You're a monster!"
Linda's face clouded over for a moment, but she quickly composed herself, flashing a serene smile. "Jealous, Lucas?"
Lucas chuckled bitterly. "Linda, you're dreaming. You mean nothing to me now. I just want you out of my life once the baby's here. I never want to see your face again."
Despite his harsh words, Lucas felt a pang of loss. It wasn't just loss; there was a touch of bitterness too. He couldn't quite pinpoint what he hated more-Linda wrecking his life, her deceit and manipulation, or the fact that she never really loved him.Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
Linda gently placed a hand on her belly. "No matter what happens between us, you'll always be the father of this child. I'll never forget you."
Lucas scoffed. "It's my child, but not yours, Linda. With your twisted ways, you'll eventually face the consequences."
Linda laughed softly. "Even if it's

Their exchange was more like a battle than a conversation. Lucas was sick to death of her, yet somewhere deep inside, he was reluctant and sad. After all, he had once loved her with all his heart.
He turned to leave, not wanting to see her face any longer. But Linda called out, "Wait."
Lucas spun around. "What now?"
"I promised I'd disappear after the baby's born, but you agreed to two conditions."
Lucas sighed, exasperated. "I did. You wanted a big, flashy wedding, and I gave you that."
"There's still the second condition."
"What is it?"
Linda pulled something out from the drawer of the dressing table. Lucas's face fell the moment he saw it. He stormed over, snatching it from her grasp, nearly shaking with anger." "Linda, what are you trying to pull? Haven't you done enough damage?"
