Chapter 94 Wistfulness and pain
Chapter 94 Wistfulness and pain
Lorenzo was sober all of a sudden. He looked around only to find that Jessica had left the room. All
details came back to his mind.
He remembered that he was so miserable that he assaulted Jessica violently, tied her to the bed and
bit her lips. The smell of blood dragged him into the abyss and made him lose his mind completely.
Lorenzo got up suddenly and hurried to check everywhere in the the Private Estate but there was no
sign of Jessica.
"Jessica..." Lorenzo's large frame shook and he began to mutter.
Jessica was gone. He's the one who forced Jessica to leave. She were probably not going home any
more.
The horrible and bloody image of him after losing control came back to his mind. He was torturing
Jessica like that! He himself even trembled with fear at his own madness, let alone such a little girl.
The devil-like ordeal must have made Jessica so miserable that she was afraid to stay here.
Maybe... She's not coming back...
Lorenzo hurried to take out his phone, typed in some numbers. His big hand froze over the screen
before hitting the dial button.
Lorenzo dejected and returned to the large master bedroom and the empty room made him feel very
depressed so he went to the bathroom, took a cold bath, put on casual wear and went down to the
living room.
"Lorenzo, why are you so weird today? The housekeeper told me that Jessica sneaked out before 6
this morning. What happened to you two?"
Granny Mrs. Fletcher stepped up to him and asked him when he was going downstairs.
"Grandma, you’re early today. Nothing happened. We are good." Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
Lorenzo was silent for a moment, clenching his hands and trying to explain in a normal tone.
"Jessica is a good girl. I don't think there is a sweeter girl than her in Ameriart. I suppose you didn’t
betray her? You must try your best to win her back if you made her unhappy. You should not just serve
the Fletcher family. You should be kind to your wife by heart, too."
Granny Mrs. Fletcher taught Lorenzo.
Yeah, Jessica was always very gentle and sweet and she almost gave in to him in every way.
"Grandma, let me be honest with you. Jessica left. I probably won't contact Jessica again."
Lorenzo mentioned Jessica's name with wistfulness and pain in his eyes.
"What did you say?" Granny Mrs. Fletcher was almost frightened by Lorenzo's words.
"Jessica is a good girl and I don't want to make her miserable. I have always felt that I am no different
from ordinary people. I just suffered from insomnia for a long time and it is inevitable that I may not
control my emotions sometimes."
"But since Jessica married me, the more time I spend with her, the more I find myself out of whack.
Even if I feel sad now, I can endure it and get over it."
"I can let go now even though I’m sad. I fear that in the future..."
If he lost control and became so selfish that he would rather hurt her than let her go in the future, it
would be a tragedy.
What happened last night was still vivid in his mind. Lorenzo didn't have the courage to bet on a better
future. He was so cruel and insensitive that he even lost his sanity as a human being yesterday.
Lorenzo didn’t want to drag innocent people down and he also didn’t want to see Jessica suffer.
With Jessica by his side, he had a chance to maintain some sense. When Jessica was not there...
"Grandma, we'll support each other as we always do... I’m going to the Group."
Lorenzo hugged her for a while before turning and leaving the house.
Granny Mrs. Fletcher was looking at Lorenzo silent when he was leaving. She was in a complicated
mood.
They would just support each other... She was old and even if she were young and healthy, she could
not accompany him for long. Sooner or later she had to go to heaven first...
Granny Mrs. Fletcher had been trying to help him. She couldn't ignore Lorenzo even if the world gave
up on him.
But she was only a grandmother and could not give him parents' love and care. Lorenzo was so lonely
and miserable that only the girl who loved him very much could save him from hell. But his symptoms
got worse.
Granny Mrs. Fletcher seemed to lose her strength suddenly and slumped on the sofa with her eyes
confused.
"Don't be sad, Granny Mrs. Fletcher. It's good news, it's good news!" Travis said in a voice full of
uncontrollable delight while trotting up to Granny Mrs. Fletcher.
"I took my men to tidy up the master bedroom as usual. Guess what I saw? I was pleasantly surprised
to find that all the bedding had to be changed!"
"What did you say?" Granny Mrs. Fletcher looked at Travis energetically with a gleam in her eyes.
Granny Mrs. Fletcher, known as an Iron Lady, had seen through Lorenzo and Jessica’s tricks at that
time. After all, it’s not possible for both of them, totally strangers, to fall in love with each other. But she
chose to shut her mouth.
However, Lorenzo and Jessica had an affinity for each other gradually, a real affinity.
"Congratulations to Granny Mrs. Fletcher! I'll order my men to change all the bedding." Travis was very
happy about their love for each other.
The Fletcher family was not an ordinary rich family. Its traditions were tedious but Granny Mrs. Fletcher
was open-minded and didn’t torture the younger generation with them.
After the master making love, the bedding would be changed and they would be thrown or cleaned for
reuse for the sake of safety. And it could also avoid bad guys taking use of it.
"Little bastard! How could he just drive such a good girl away after that? How irresponsible he is!"
Nevertheless, she's really happy for Lorenzo.
"Prepare the meal." She was smiling from ear to ear with a good appetite.
"All right, right away." Travis was really happy for Granny Mrs. Fletcher. However, she was not
supposed to eat too much since she hadn’t had a good appetite for a long time so he made some
nutritious porridge.
"Granny Mrs. Fletcher, there's a phone call for you. It’s Madame in Nicolork."
Hearing the phone ringing, the servant hurried to pick it up and gave it to Granny Mrs. Fletcher.
"Well, you call me anyway." Granny Mrs. Fletcher spoke calmly and the joyful mood was gone.
"Mom, how dare I disturb your peace on weekdays. It’s your grandson Wilfred. The little bastard
insisted on staying in Ameriart. We had already found a girl in Nicolork for him and were waiting for him
to return. Anyway, he’s old enough to have a family. Don't blame me now. Why don’t you just send the
heirloom here?" Connie said with a false smile.
"Connie, how dare you! I told you that the heirloom is not here. What do you think I am?" Granny Mrs.
Fletcher was furious and slapped her hand hard on the table. She winked at Travis and implied that
they should not be afraid of her.
Travis nodded and said nothing.
"Mom, you misunderstood me. How dare I disobey you? But I have evidence. We can see that it was
you who took away the heirloom." Connie had evidence and that’s why she dared to speak boldly.
Granny Mrs. Fletcher was too happy to remember the camera. What a terrible mistake! Silly her.
"Connie, you misunderstood me. Or maybe you are so ill to see clearly. Wilfred is my own grandson.
Why would I do harm to him? Alas, I am old and useless. I deserve to be abandoned."
"Well, well, well. It is true to forget your mother when you have a wife. Put the bastard on the phone!
Let me make it clear. Is it easy for me to support the Fletcher family? I deserve credit for my efforts at
least! You left me in Ameriart but I don’t have the heart to sue you for elder abuse. How dare you! Oh
dear, let me die!"
Granny Mrs. Fletcher acted the tragedy of the year calmly and Travis, who was agape, couldn’t help
but give Granny Mrs. Fletcher a thumb up.
"Well, please don't act as if we are disobedient. You misunderstood me. Just forget it."
Hearing Granny Mrs. Fletcher’s heart-broken complaint, Connie knew that it’s not possible for her to
get the heirloom even though she continued the show so she just hung up the phone for fear that
Granny Mrs. Fletcher would continue to blame them.
"Hum! How dare you fight me! Just think about why people call me the Iron Lady." Granny Mrs.
Fletcher handed the phone to Travis.
Travis's lips twitched but he couldn't think of anything to say so he just shut up.
After the call, Granny Mrs. Fletcher seemed to have a better appetite. She asked for another matcha
cake to her heart's content.
Connie, Lorenzo's stepmother, married her son and gave birth to a child, Wilfred, Lorenzo's half-
brother.
Granny Mrs. Fletcher did take the heirloom.
Jessica was the daughter of an old family friend and she was going to marry Wilfred.
But thanks to Granny Mrs. Fletcher, Jessica became Lorenzo's wife.
