Contract Go Wrong: The CEO’s Tempting Bride

Chapter 33 She Did It On Purpose (1)

Gina walked down the stairs, her eyes darting around rapidly. It was a relief that both of them were nowhere to be seen.

When she walked past the dining area, her eyes caught the plates on the table, and she frowned. Why had they left the dirtied plates there?

She shrugged and headed inside the kitchen, then searched the fridge for some eggs and bread. An omelet was the farthest thing on her mind, however, she doubted that before the noodles were done she might have fainted from hunger.

She picked up a frying pan, then paused to look at the dirtied utensils in the sink. She shrugged and continued what she was doing.

Still whipping the eggs, her attention suddenly caught the figure strolling toward the kitchen.

Unlike the dress she wore earlier the girl was now wearing skimpy shorts and a t-shirt, and her blonde hair was also tied in a ponytail. Doesn’t she feel cold?

Gina could not care less and she turned back to whipping the eggs.

Without acknowledging her presence, the girl opened the fridge, then came back to the counter and sat down.

Gina glanced at the huge cup of ice cream she had brought out of the fridge and gasped. She quickly looked away and took the egg batter toward the stove.

“Mmmm… this tastes so good,” Ruby moaned as she ate leisurely. “You know… Adrian has always made sure that we never run out of it, when I mentioned that I like this flavor combination, I never knew he would take it so seriously.” She paused, and let out a chuckle then continued.

“Even though it’s been so many years, Adrian never forgets that, he had even hired a chef specifically for this… isn’t he the sweetest?”

Gina glanced back at the girl while frying her egg. She had on a dreamy expression with both hands cupping her cheeks. She averted her gaze and turned the egg in the frying pan.

When everything was done and she was about to reach for the bread which she had kept on the counter, Ruby stood up and sauntered toward her, leaving her half-finished ice cream behind.

“What’s your name?” She placed a hand on Gina’s shoulder and asked.

Even though the girl had plastered on a smile Gina could sense hatred from her voice. And her expression was clearly spelling trouble.

“Regina,” she replied, and extended her hand to take the bread however, the girl snatched it.

“What… you wanna eat this?” Ruby waved the braid in front of her with a raised brow and said, “You see, Regina… Adrian doesn’t have a choice but to marry a filthy rag like you. But that doesn’t give you the chance to do as you wish in this house, and whatever tricks you use he’s never going to fall for you.”

She walked away with the bread and put it inside the fridge.

Gina stood still, digesting the girl’s words. Wasn’t she the one that doesn’t have a choice? And why would she even wish for the devil to fall for her, who said she even liked him in the first place.

Ruby walked back from the fridge and folded her hands in front of her chest. “Start counting your days here, because I’m going to make sure you’re out of here as soon as possible. I don’t want you tainting his life with your wretchedness.”

At first, she had thought that it was some lofty heiress when Adrian had told her about his misfortune. What were his grandparents thinking? Would they go to any extent to get her out of his life, was that why they made him marry this girl?

Thinking that they’ll gradually accept her, Ruby had put up with their heinous dislike toward her, not knowing that they’ll even resort to this trick.

Gina’s eyes dimmed at the insulting words. She turned away from her with a sigh and turned off the stove.

Her face fell at the sight of the almost burnt egg.

Ignored by the girl, Ruby clenched her fists and strode forward. “Are you stupid or don’t you hear me speaking to you? You dare ignore me like a fool?”

Gina was still mulling over her half-burnt egg. She looked up at the girl’s furious expression then glanced away and was about to take a plate.

Ruby’s expression instantly darkened and she yanked her hand away from the plate. “Don’t you dare give me that attitude while I speak to you… do you think that I wanted to? I just want to make it clear to you, irritate me and I’ll make your life hell in this house!”Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

Staring wide-eyed at the broken plates and her egg now thrown on the floor, Gina was now left holding an empty pan. She snapped her head to the girl and said, “Why don’t you leave me alone and see if I’ll even walk on your path!?”

“You…” Ruby pointed a shaking finger at her. “You dared scream at me?”

Gina wiggled her hand off then gasped as the girl was now on the floor. And before she could register anything, Ruby let out a scream.

“You, what is wrong with you!” Ruby wailed with tears gushing down her eyes. She was pressing tightly to her arm. “You could have told me that you’re not in the mood to talk and I would walk away… how could you do this to me!? Ahhhh!”

She let out another scream.

Gina’s jaw dropped and she looked between the girl’s arm which was now red and the hot pan in her hand. How did this happen? And when did the pan even touch her? She could only remember pushing her away in anger.

Her heart sank and she hurried toward her. “I… I… I’m so sorry, I– I didn’t know—” she stopped mid-sentence at the sudden change in the atmosphere. A cold shiver ran down her spine as her head turned to the door.

Adrian was striding toward the kitchen with fear in his eyes.
