Chapter 44
Chapter 44
When Alyssa saw that “Justin” was serious and did not seem to be lying at all, she became nervous.
“You're really saying that we..." She paused, desperately trying to find the words to explain what she was feeling.
She really couldn't remember what had happened after she had fallen off that balcony. The drug must've already taken effect during this time, so it was possible that if they really had done something, she wouldn't be able to know.
Her mind went blank for a few seconds before she finally thought of Emmett.
If he found out, she'd be dead!
And the fact that she was in “Justin's” room in nothing more than her pajamas, the thought was about to send her into a stroke. She couldn’t stay in this room anymore!
With a pale face, she lifted the blanket and was about to get out of bed, but Emmett pushed her back down.
“You look exhausted after what had happened last night. You should get some rest. I'll ask someone to cook whatever you want to eat."
He placed a hand on her shoulder. Although it looked weak, she still couldn't move.
Various thoughts filled her mind as she thought of the different things they could've done while she was drugged. Shame spread all over her body as she pulled away from his hold. She was so angry that she
trembled. "You really are shameless!"
"Shameless? How about this?" As he spoke, he pushed her back onto the bed with a slight force from the land on her shoulder. His tall body covered her and he lowered his head to kiss her lips.
Her eyes widened, and she was immediately caught off-guard. This gave more chance for Emmett to move around, further deepening the kiss while they were at it.
The kiss was forceful and filled with emotion. He held Alyssa by the wrist as he dominated her small frame, and kissed her forcefully and tyrannically, making sure to cherish every moment that her lips touched his.
She had never kissed a man before. In fact, in all her life, her only experience came from the man in front of her. His cold air wrapped around her, giving her no room to resist his warm grip.
After the kiss ended, he pecked her a few times before drawing away.
Alyssa laid on the bed. Her face was flushed after their kiss. Her beautiful, clear eyes were filled with a layer of lustful mist as the sun reflected her swollen lips. Her chest rose and fell as her breathing became ragged. It was obvious that she had enjoyed the kiss, no matter how much she tried to hide it.
Emmett’s breath, which had slowed down, became a little heavier. He looked at her with passionate eyes and said in a hoarse voice, “I know something even more shameless. Do you want to try it?”
Hearing that, Alyssa regained her senses. Her eyes clear again, she looked up and saw him leaning against her head. She held back her breath and slapped him fiercely.
But Emmett immediately caught her by the wrist.
He grinned, placing her hand on top of his lips. Fluttering butterfly kisses across her palm, his smile became even more wicked. "Hm, I like women who are as feisty as my sister-in-law."
This man was really shameless!
She could not retract her hand, completely contained by him. So, she could only suppress her anger and say, “I am your sister-in-law!”
He simply grinned, looking as if he wasn't able to hear the anger in her voice and said in whisper. “Cousin has gone abroad. He won’t be back in less than a dozen of days. No one will be able to disturb us now. Isn't that more exciting?"
Exciting?
My ass!
Exciting?
My ass!
She wasn't planning on having an affair with her cousin-in-law!
Emmett saw that her expression became even unhappy by the second, so he didn't tease her any longer. Standing up, his smile disappeared in an instant. "What do you want to eat? I'll get someone to
do it."
Alyssa said coldly. "I'm not hungry."
The only thing she wanted now was for him to leave!
Emmett ignored her indifference and said to himself, “Then porridge and stir-fry a few dishes.”
As soon as he left the bedroom, she jumped up and raced into the bathroom. Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
She wanted to confirm whether or not she and Justinhad done anything last night!
It was normal for her to feel back pains, especially after what she had been through. In fact, she'd even feel more suspicious if she didn't feel any pain from jumping off that balcony. However, other than that, she didn't feel any discomfort from below her waist.
Although Justindidn't seem trustworthy, she believed that he wouldn't be that cruel to try something like this. He wasn't the type to take advantage of others.
Locking the bathroom door, she removed her pajamas and checked her body. There weren't traces of any liquid or bite marks across her skin. Alyssa even tried jumping up a few times but didn't feel anything out of the ordinary.
It was obvious by then that he was only lying to her.
Although he wasn't evil, that didn't mean that he wasn't childish. Did he have his fun teasing her like that?
Heaving a sigh of relief, she went straight to the sink and prepared to wash her face. However, when she gazed at her reflection, she was left stunned. Although he hadn't touched her in that way, she was certain that he had something to do with this.
The ugly makeup on her face had been removed!
There were plenty of things that had happened last night, so the dark circles around her eyes still hadn't faded. But that didn't degrade her beauty much either. It gave her a sense of weakness, one that would make people pity her rather than go against her.
The breath that she had been finally let go, choked her once again. It seemed that her cover has been blown already.
…
Half an hour later, Emmett went up to call her for dinner.
He entered his bedroom to find that the bed was empty. His eyebrows furrowed over his temple. Where could she have gone?
Just as he was about to move, he heard a soft ruffle coming from behind him.
He stopped and turned around. He saw Alyssa standing by the doorway. Her arms were crossed over her chest and she glared at him questioningly.
Why can't I open the door to my room?" Her voice seemed indifferent.
She had just gone back to her room a few seconds ago, but no matter how much she tried, she still couldn't open the door. She had tried pulling and pushing it, she even tried kicking it, but it still didn’t open.
"Did something happen to it while I was gone?"
"The door is broken.” Emmett said calmly and it was hard to tell what he was really thinking.
Alyssa looked at him suspiciously. Wasn't the lock on her door still fine last night?
Emmett glanced at the way she looked at him. Although she still regarded him from a distance, he could tell that she had finally figured out that nothing happened between them. The corners of his lips twitched, but he didn't say a word about that.
“Let’s eat.” With that, he went downstairs.
Alyssa thought of resisting his offer, but her stomach growled in contradiction. She had lost her appetite a few minutes ago because she thought that they had really done something that night, but after confirming that nothing happened, she was back to normal.
With a sigh, she headed down the staircase. She'd deal with this matter later.
In the dining room.
Alyssa and Emmett sat face to face. No words were said between them, and she used this time to glance at her surroundings. She still couldn't help but admire the modern furnishings of the place as
well as the abstract paintings hanging on the wall.
Although she didn't have the chance to communicate with her husband, she could tell that they had similar tastes. As she was looking around, the bodyguard brought the plates of food over.
Her lips pursed. She had always been curious as to why there weren't any maids in the villa. Usually, it was more of their job description to cook and clean the house, not a bunch of burly bodyguards. They may cook all right, but she could tell that this wasn't their forte.
She tentatively looked up. "Does your cousin hate women?"
Hearing this, Emmett paused. Was he really that obvious?
He put down his spoon and looked up at Alyssa, “Why do you ask that?”
He put down the spoon and looked up at her. “Why do you ask that?”
Alyssa also put down her spoon. “Well, he doesn't want to see me from the beginning. And there aren't any maids in the villa. For someone as well-off as him, he wouldn't have a problem with hiring a ton of them...unless he didn't want their presence."
Emmett didn't say anything more in response. He had to admit that his wife was quite perceptive of his actions.
Alyssa thought like she was forgetting something. She rubbed her head and suddenly remembered something. “Hazel! Where is she? Is she okay?”
Remembering that he may not have remembered her name, she quickly added, "She's the one who came to the villa the day you were sick. We're close friends, and I think Xavier seems to know her as well.”
As he thought about last night, Emmett’s expression darkened slightly. “She’s fine.”
Even after what had happened last night, she was still in the mood to care about others? If he didn't go to check up on her last night, would she have managed to get out of Sky Light Club on her own?
Alyssa still wasn't convinced with his words. She reached out to touch her phone, only to remember that her phone broke into pieces when she had jumped off the balcony last night.
Emmett caught her subtle movements. Reaching out from his sides, he took out a box from behind him and pushed it towards her.
“What is it?” Alyssa asked curiously.
Emmett didn’t say anything. He just glanced at her and signaled her to open it.
Alyssa opened the box and found that there was a brand-new women’s phone.
