Betrothed To The Mafia Lord

Chapter 63

Chapter 63

Sofia’s POV

“Are there any other side effects it brings you?” He asked and I nodded my head before starting to list

them, “Lots of headache and body pains, drowsiness, nauseous feeling, weakness, mood swings and

moodiness.”

“Whoa. That’s a lot of side effects, that might as well be one of the reasons as to why you pass out.” He

started to say before scribbling down on his book once again.

“I’ll give you a few things for your period side effects, and something for you to use for your headache

and stomach pains.” Tyler informed me and I nodded my head at him, feeling extremely grateful to him

and thankful that I didn’t have to go to the hospital tonight all because I had stupidly made use of some

drugs on an empty stomach when I wasn’t supposed to, and had ended up passing out.

“Also, have you been overthinking lately?” He suddenly started to ask again and I stared confusedly at

him, wondering why he was asking me such a weird question at the moment.

“Doesn’t everyone overthink?” The words that popped into my head were out my lips before I could

blink and I watched as he chuckled a little before shaking his head. “No, everyone do not overthink.”

“Oh.” I stated, feeling dumb all over again.

I mean, I used to think it was pretty normal for everyone to overthink. Because how won’t people

overthink when there’d be so much going on in their lives, the way they didn’t want it to turn out.

Or, if the said person was in my shoes, they’d undoubtedly over think way more than I do, I was a

hundred percent sure of that. Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

“Your blood pressure level is high, although it isn’t that high, but it’s way higher than normal, which is a

sign of you overthinking.” Tyler started to say again and my mouth opened and closed and opened

again but nothing audible came out. I had no idea my blood pressure was taken… it had probably been

taken when I had still been passed out.

“Please don’t overthink, that was one of the reasons as to why you passed out, along with the amount

of stress you’re always putting your brain to.” Tyler started to say again and I groaned low in my throat,

when was he going to be done listing my problems and give me some drugs to use so I could take

them and try to get some sleep.

Ugh.

“Your stress level is high as well, your pulse was really running fast too.” He continued and I breathed

out a sigh and nodded my head at him, back to tangling my fingers with one another on my thighs once

again.

I couldn’t help it.

I was starting to feel really small once again.

Just what would Luca be thinking now? After listening to the doctor list off my whole health problems

before him like it was a very normal thing to do.

He’d probably be irritated with how different parts abd areas of my health have one problem or the

other.

Which was his fault after all. If he hadn’t agreed to marry me in place of the stupid loan he had given to

my father, who had greedily lost it while gambling – I was most definitely sure I wouldn’t be here at the

moment.

But then…

If all that hadn’t happened, I might have ended up being given in marriage to someone who was a true

monster.

I shivered a little, dread sliding over my whole skin almost immediately, making me recoil and try to

unconsciously scratch the feeling off my exposed skin of my thighs.

“What’s wrong?” I jolted a little the moment Luca’s deep voice drilled into my head unexpectedly. I

shook my head, feeling heat rush into my face almost immediately as I started replying to his question,

refusing to glance up at him. “Um, nothing. Nothing’s wrong.”

“Do you have an appetite, Mrs Ricci?” Tyler started to ask and I looked up from my thighs to stare at

him, thankful that his question had stopped Luca from asking me another question if he had wanted to.

I shrugged my shoulders a little while drawing tiny patterns on the small exposed skin of my left thighs.

“I don’t think so, my mouth tastes a little bitter at the moment, but I think that’s because of my period…”

I trailed off at the last statement and stared down back at the pale skin of my thighs, the bright lights of

the sitting room making it gleam right there on the couch.

“Alright, thank you ma’am.” He replied to my answer before finally pushing himself up from his

crouched position and turning around to walk back toward the other side of the room.

And I was once again left with Luca.

I felt his stare on me without looking up at him and knew I might end up passing out again if I glanced

up at him and end up locking eyes with him.

I glance up, towards the side where the television was hanging off the wall to check the wall clock

which was positioned a few feet above the television. It was currently some minutes past nine p.m in

the night and I started to wonder just how long it has been since I passed out.

I had passed out for over an hour?

The man finally returned towards where I was seated on but didn’t crouch down beside the couch this

time. I watched from the sides of my eyes as Luca walked away from the spot he had been standing in

for some time now, to make his way out of the sitting room into where I had no idea was his destination.

He placed a temperature checker beneath my armpits and asked me to tighten my arm around it before

he headed back towards the couch in the far end of the sitting room, sorting through a lot of things that

was in there and thumbing through different kinds of medicines that were right there on the couch.

He returned back and took the temperature checker out of my armpit after it beeped loudly, vibrating

against the insides of my armpit. He stared at the results on the checker before staring down at me and

back up at the checker. He finally raised his palm and rested it against my forehead, and left it there for

a few long seconds before dragging his hand away and returning back towards the end of the sitting

room where he quickly picked up his book to scribble something on.

“You don’t have a problem with mixing some of these into a bottle of water and drinking it from tonight

into tomorrow, do you?” He suddenly asked and I glanced up at him from my hands wrapped against

my middle finger, stared at him and the orange squared shape wrapper he was holding up in his right

hand.

“Um, is it bitter?” I asked timidly, flushing a little in embarrassment when he chuckled a little before

shaking his head in reply.

“It’s almost tasteless, except for a slight sore taste which you’d feel on your tongue and at the back of

your throat once you’re done drinking it.” He replied and I wrinkled my nose in disgust, it sounds really

bad.

“Your facial expression says it all, but you’d have to try to drink it because it would help you regain your

strength really fast.” He started to say without looking at me, back to scribbling something down on his

book once again.

“Here are the set of tablets you’re to make use of tonight, after you’ve eaten, not before you eat.” He

started to say after a little while and I nodded my head once even though he wasn’t staring at me, still

feeling deeply feeling at the whole thing that had happened to me this evening after I had stupidly taken

those set of tablets.

That reminds me…

I moved my right arm a little, lifting the arm up and it didn’t hurt at all, not one jolt of pain flowed through

the veins.

So I guess the drugs I took had payed off a little? Even though it has ended up making me experience

a lot of stomach pain and also made me psss out.

It had also made me experience so much embarrassment before Luca, this evening.

Ugh.

My life was just so… it was just so not it at the moment. It wasn’t moving in the way I’d want it to go on

a normal day.

“These ones are the ones you’re to use starting from tomorrow, in the morning before nine a.m in the

morning. After eating, not before eating or on an empty stomach.” He started to say again and I

scowled a little, starting to feel a little bit hurt that he’d think I was that dumb to still make use of drugs

on an empty stomach after seeing what had happened to me this evening.

“I know. I know. I won’t make use of them before eating or on an empty stomach like I had said before.”

I started to say to him a few seconds later and I watched as he glanced up from the book he was

scribbling on to stare at me in surprise, his eyes widening a little.

“Oh- I…” He trailed off and started walking towards me, “I am so sorry if I had made you feel like you

were dumb or something, ma’am. It wasn’t part of my intentions to be very honest, I was just trying to

confirm that you got that particular detail well because it is really important.” He started to say almost

immediately, apologizing to me and still seeming a bit shocked that I had said what I said.

“It’s alright, it really is. I just didn’t like nor appreciate the way you kept placing so much emphasis on

that particular detail, it made me feel like you still thought I’d make use of some set of tablets on an

empty stomach after seeing what had happened to me this evening.” I said to him with a little shrug

while breathing out a slow breath.

“I apologize for the misunderstandings and misinterpretations.” He said once again and I nodded my

head at him without saying a thing again. He proceeded to show me the rest of the drugs and how I

was supposed to make use of them.

They consisted of some tablets, capsules, some powdered stuff which I was supposed to mix in a

bottle of warm water and drink for strength, and some thighs that looked like candy which was

supposed to help with my sore throat.

I nodded my head along with him as he explained how I was supposed to use everything right before

he had everything packaged and handed it over to me in a black square shaped carton.

“Thank you so much, Mr Tyler.” I started to say to him. “I am sorry for putting you through stress this

evening and I really appreciate you coming over to see to my health problems.” I continued, feeling a

little proud that my voice was coming out really strong and that all what I had said to him just now felt

like something a very mature person would say.

Someone who’s a child wouldn’t have been able to think about all these.

Which means I was indeed maturing, something I was extremely glad about.

“That’s all, Tyler, right?” I heard Luca’s voice echoed throughout the sitting room from a spot behind me

and quickly turned my head around to check where he was speaking from.

He was leaning against the wall, a few feet away from the doorway leading out of the sitting room and I

turned my head back around and stared back down at my thighs the moment after our eyes had locked

and held for a fleeting second.

Luca had been there this whole time?
