A Girl Adopted

Chapter 16- Amara

Chapter 16- Amara

As soon as I got home, I packed my stuff for the beach. I told Ryder and papa about my plans. Ryder is

happy as long as it is not the Knights I am hanging out with. Ryder dropped me off at the back of the

school. Its five minutes to three right now. Aaron pulled in at exactly three. Someone's punctual. I ran

towards his car and got in. I turned my head towards him and he was grinning like an idiot like before.

Well this isn't creepy.

"Are you going to kill me and dump me in the ocean?" I asked him in mock horror.

"Is it that obvious?" he asked seriously. But I can clearly see the amusement in his eyes.

"If you kill me, I will haunt your ass for eternity." I said poking my tongue at him.

"Fine by me." He said grinning.

And with that we laughed out loud like crazy.

Aaron continued grinning at me," I am so excited for our little picnic, you can't even imagine. I just

wanted to spend some time with only you."

"Yeah me too." I said copying his grin. He is starting to grow on me.

We reached the beach in about half an hour. Not the beach exactly, but the cliff. So he was serious

about cliff jumping. It looks like a dead end but theirs are trees everywhere, so the cars can't go any

further. It's cold here. I would prefer diving with a few sweaters on if that’s an option. Aaron got out of

the car and started stripping to his swim trunks which he was wearing underneath his cloths. I removed

my t-shirt and jeans. I am now in a black sports bra and black tights that reached a little above mid- ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

thigh. I never liked swim suits, I don't know why. The pack symbol on my shoulder is clearly visible now,

but I covered it with my hairs. Thanks to my long hairs. We shoved our cloths in the car and ran

towards the end of the cliff. It's not that high, maybe a height of a three storey building. We looked at

each other grinning. I was about to jump but Aaron held my hand.

"Can we talk first?" he asked nervously. Is he alright?

"Sure." This looks really serious by the face he is making.

We sat down at the edge of the cliff, our feet dangling in air. He took a deep breath.

"You remember the first day of the school, in the canteen?" he said twisting his fingers nervously.

"Off course I remember those butt holes bullying you. I seriously wanted to beat the shit out of them.

But what about them?" I asked confused.

"You know why they used to bully me?" he asked.

"Because they are gits.” I said with a lop-sided grin. “Did you murder his cat or what? Because I will

bully you too if you killed mine." I said in mock horror.

He laughed, but it sounded forced.

"Everything started last year. They started bullying me. My friends turned their backs on me. My family

loved me anyway. Then you showed up and saved me from getting beaten by them." He said looking

straight ahead towards the vast sky.

"Why did everyone do that?" I asked, angry and confused at the same time.

"Promise me you won't leave me too after I tell you this. I know I sound selfish right now but I think you

should know the reason behind everything before it's too late." He said uncomfortably.

"I promise not to leave you ever. Even if you want to get rid of me, that won’t be happening." I said

raising three fingers in the air.

He took a deep breath and blurted out," I am gay."

There was a long silence. I was waiting for him to say something. But nothing. He was looking down at

his hands. I should just encourage him to talk.

"Hey you can tell me what it is. I am not going to judge you." I said smiling at him.

He looked at me like I am crazy. What did I do now?

"I said I am gay." He said incredibly.

"Okay. But that can't be the reason they were bullying you." I said irritated.

I turned towards him to see his eyes getting watery. My eyes widened. Oh my god this can't be

happening.

"Are you telling me that everyone started acting that way because you came out as gay?" I asked.

He nodded. My jaw ticked in anger.

"I am going to murder every one of them painfully." I said clenching my fists. They are so dead.

He hugged me all of a sudden that my breath was knocked out of me. He started sobbing

uncontrollably. I hugged him back and let him cry running my hand through his hairs. After few minutes

he let go of me. His face was red and eyes were puffy from all the crying.

"You don't hate me for being gay?" he asked.

"Why would I hate you for your sexual preference?" I asked confused.

He hugged me again giving me his goofy grin. I grinned back at him.

"Let's jump. I can't wait to dunk you in the water." He said getting up.

I slapped him on his arm making him laugh. I got up and we looked at each other. If I say I am scared,

it would be a complete understatement.

"Ready?" he asked.

I nodded not trusting my voice. He smiled at me and we jumped. For a moment I felt the air rushing

past my body, whipping through my hair and next moment I was under water. I surfaced and looked for

Aaron. He was a few feet away from me towards my left. He swam towards me. We looked at each

other and burst out laughing. I threw water at him with my hands and he accidentally swallowed some.

He shuddered a bit from the saltiness and playfully glared at me. And that's how ladies and gentlemen

we started dunking each other. I shuddered a bit from the cold water.

Aaron said," We should swim to the beach. It's getting cold here and the sun is almost down as well."

"Yeah let's go."

While swimming towards the beach I thought if I should tell him about my family. I trust him enough

even it's been only a few days of us being together. But this secret is way bigger and it's just not mine

alone. I don't know. I think I should tell him. I can't keep hiding it forever. We reached the beach. Our

cloths were up the cliff, so we have to walk all the way up. I looked at the cliff. It is covered with those

trees that are pointy at the end. I don't know much about trees. It looks like a hill cut in half, a huge hill

at that. Just the corner of the top end cleared of the trees. It looks like the beach is surrounded by the

hill. You can even hike there. The hill slope fades at one side of the beach so you can climb up to the

cliff on foot. There is a different road for the cars to come there, from which we came here. It's beautiful

though. Aaron removed the hair from my left shoulder.

"Whoa! You have a tattoo." He exclaimed “When did you get it? Is that a wolf in it? What does it

mean?”

Holly shit.

"Yeah about that. I have to tell you something too." Now this is my time to get nervous.

Okay. Let's get this over with. I hope he won't freak out and make a run for the hills.
