I am ashamed that you are my sister!
Rafael:
I finished checking my emails, got up from my chair and headed to the dressing room to dress comfortably. Then, I left my room and walked towards Sofia’s bedroom. But, just as I made my way to the central hallway at the top of the ranch, I met Aunt.
-Good morning, Aunt! Is breakfast ready yet? I’m going to call Sofia, so we can leave early,” I announced, kissing her on the cheek happily.
-Ahhh!” exclaimed Aunt with astonishment, “They didn’t tell you either? -She replied with displeasure, looking at me in disbelief.
“It’s strange, they didn’t tell you. They’ve already left,” she said.
-What do you mean? Why did they leave? -I asked dumbfounded. “Did something happen with them, aunt? -I was surprised and irritated, I couldn’t conceive that being my guests, someone would intimidate them.
-I have no idea what could have happened! But Sofia’s arrogant and haughty attitude caught my attention,” she said regretfully.
“It was what I least expected from such polite and pleasant women. They left like that, without even saying goodbye, it’s a lack of courtesy,” I thought doubtfully.
I ran down the stairs to check if her van was still there or not. Aunt Anastasia came down behind me, walking slowly towards the exit, where I went. I looked towards the garage and noticed that the Range Rover was not there, so I went back to the entrance door.
-But…! What happened? Why did he leave? What did he tell you? -I questioned, disappointed. I was saddened, I felt as if he had betrayed me or run away from me. The question is why? It was all very strange.
-I’ll be honest with you, nephew: Sofia, although yesterday when she arrived she conquered me, today with her arrogance and haughtiness, she disappointed me. I was very annoyed by her ingratitude,” she said, very angry.
“And yes! She left you a message -Aunt commented to me- “That you pass her an account and the price of the foals to transfer to you, because she explained to you that the gifts of her children, she gives them to her” -she affirmed she is very annoyed.
-She knows that this was not a business, it was simply a gift for her triplets! -I clarified totally displeased.
-She looked so angry! You must have done something? Did you argue too loud last night? I heard a door being slammed,” Aunt Anastasia commented.
-No, not at all, Aunt! How do you think? And even after I took her to the terrace and showed her the view of the estate from there, I accompanied her to her room. And she even said goodbye to me with a kiss on the cheek, thankfully -I assured her, disappointed and surprised.
-That could be the cause of Sofia’s anger! That someone saw them, went and complained to her -suggested Aunt, with a classic look of an expert detective- I’m sorry, son, for this situation! I wanted to help you, but I couldn’t do anything.
“His mom, when I asked her if they were leaving with you, she answered me no, precisely, to avoid problems for you.
-Trouble for me? -I asked in confusion.
-Yes, that’s what Estefania said! -Aunt assured me.
-But I don’t think it was Mirelys who bullied them! -I affirmed, “She is not at the ranch. Yesterday I ordered my mother to tell her to leave the ranch. I don’t want to see her here anymore! -I commented angrily.
-Do you think your mother asked her beloved friend’s daughter to leave? Well, I don’t, she is not capable of mentioning this,” she assured me with determination.
-My mother knows not to play with me or else it will weigh on her! -I demanded, confident that she complied with my request.
-You know, something happened,” said Aunt disenchanted, “Something strange happened here and I’m going to find out,” she assured, turning around and walking towards the stairs.
-Where are you going? -I asked, behind her.
-To see if Camila has woken up yet,” she answered me, going up the stairs and walking towards her bedroom. She apparently hadn’t woken up yet, despite being an early riser.
“I’m sure, if she didn’t go, she knows for sure who did. I heard, last night clearly, the loud bang of a door slamming in anger,” Aunt declared, her eyes narrowed. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.
-At what moment was that? I didn’t hear anything,” I confessed.
-After we locked ourselves in our bedrooms,” she replied. When we got to my mother’s room, she stopped, put her ear to the door to hear if there was any noise inside. But then she knocked.
-Knock, knock!
She knocked on the door with a soft rap of her knuckles. But, no one answered, retreating from the bedroom door, approaching me.
-It doesn’t matter, if not right now, I have all day to get the truth of what happened,” she said indignantly, now grieving with Sofia and her mother.
After that, I dialed Sofia’s cell phone several times, but it was turned off. Then, I went downstairs and walked to the stables. Seeing that I couldn’t do anything, I ordered my horse Tornado to be saddled, to gallop and run.
“I need to clear my head and end the rage that eats away at me, for not having taken Sofia and her children back to the City. As well as, for ignoring what really happened,” I thought feeling guilty, for having neglected them.
At the beginning of this ride, I was going at a trot, but then, I increased the pressure on Tornado and started to gallop for a long time until I left my horse exhausted….
The Narrator:
Anastasia convinced that something happened to Sofia at the hacienda the night before and determined to find out the truth, went back upstairs to her sister’s room, where she knocked on the door again.
-Come in! -Camila answered in a hoarse voice, apparently she was waking up.
-Good morning! And that miracle that you haven’t woken up yet? -asked Anastasia, drawing the high, wide, thick curtains of her twin’s room, to let the sunlight in.
-Close the curtain! -Camila commanded grumpily, at this action of her sister and covering her face with the comforter.
-What did you do last night to Sofia, your son’s guest? -asked Anastasia, facing her to observe her reaction.
-What the hell are you talking about? -asked Camila, pretending to ignore what her sister was saying, closing her eyes and blocking the sunlight.
-You know very well what I’m talking about. If it wasn’t you, I’m sure you know who did it,” Anastasia questioned threateningly.
-And that’s why you’re waking me up? -Camilla asked, straightening up in her bed and moving to the edge of the bed to sit up.
-I swear, I don’t understand you! -How is it possible for you to put the interests of any person above the feelings and interests of your own son? Likewise, you did with Maria de los Angeles.
-What are you talking about? You’re crazy, sister! So much reading and studying is affecting you,” she argued, annoyed.
-I’m ashamed that you are my sister! How were you able to attack or let “another” do it, to a guest of your son, regardless of the intention, with which he made the invitation? -accused Anastasia to Camilla…
