Chapter 653 I Came Here for Sophia
"What do you mean?" Abbott couldn't help asking, "Are you suggesting that we've been badmouthing
you in front of Drake?"
"Abbott, that's not what I meant!" William tried to explain.
"You don't have to say anything. Where is Mom?" Abbott said dismissively.
William quickly updated them on the current situation, especially Drake, as if he was putting all his
efforts into him.
When they arrived in the room, they thought the old Mrs. Lawson was faking it. But when they saw her
sleeping soundly in bed and couldn't wake her up after calling her several times, they realized she had
really been frightened yesterday.
As her son, Abbott couldn't say she deserved it, but he felt relieved to see the old Mrs. Lawson finally
get her comeuppance.
After a while, he looked at William and asked, "Did you call an ambulance?"
"Abbott, I've never encountered this before. It doesn't seem like a physical problem. Maybe it's
something else. I thought since Drake is a local, he might know who to call, so I told him everything."
William explained anxiously.
From his perspective, Abbott was falsely accusing him, didn't he?
Abbott didn't want to bother with these things and heard someone outside asking, "Excuse me, is this
William's place?"
William looked puzzled, not recognizing the stranger.
Drake saw the newcomer and welcomed him, "You're here!"
"Mr. Riley!"
Finally, the person found someone familiar and walked in, taking off his shoes.
Drake introduced him, "This is our family's private doctor who came to treat the old Mrs. Lawson!"
When William heard that he was the Riley family's private doctor, he was excited but still a bit worried.
He couldn't say something like he might not be able to help in front of the doctor, so he remained silent.
After the private doctor examined the old Mrs. Lawson, he walked over to Drake and Abbott.
"The old lady's physical condition is fine; it should be something mental." Said the private doctor.
William exclaimed, "See, I told you she might have some mental issues!"
The private doctor glanced at him but didn't say anything. When he looked at Drake and Abbott, he
said, "But I prescribed some calming medication for her. It might help her wake up. When she wakes
up, a psychologist would be great. There are no other major issues."
Drake nodded and signaled for him to leave.
William walked up to Drake and held his hand. "I knew finding you, Drake, was the most important
thing. Only you can solve this. But Drake, I think you should find a master to have your grandmother
checked out. I still think she's not mentally stable."
"I don't know any masters. You heard what the doctor said. If you trust me, follow his advice. If not, then
forget it."
Drake didn't say much.
William was always scheming. He quickly added, "Of course, I believe you. But there's something else I
want to negotiate with you."
Abbott had no idea what his younger brother was up to.
"Look, Drake, we're not familiar with this place. If there's anything we need, we'll have to find you. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
Taking care of your grandmother is too much for us. What do you think of taking her back with you first
and then when she's better, you can bring her back to us."
That was their intention to bring him here, right? Well done, if Abbott didn't take her away, he would be
seen as an unfilial son.
"William, it's not that I don't want to take Mom with me. It's just considering her condition, who knows
what problems we might encounter on the way. How about I have someone take her away immediately
after Mom wakes up and her health is confirmed?"
William knew his brother was cunning. If the old Mrs. Lawson really woke up, she wouldn't leave with
Abbott.
"Abbott, what you propose seems feasible, but what if something happens these days? What if
something happened to Mom, and you can't come here in time, what should I do?"
Abbott thought for a moment. "Alright, how about this? I'll stay here with you guys these days and we'll
take care of Mom together."
William seemed to have no other way to continue. Bella kept making gestures at him, but it was no use!
Before leaving, Drake didn't forget to say, "Dad, if there's anything I can help with, don't hesitate to let
me know. I'll come as quick as I can."
"I will. Don't worry about me."
Drake left.
When he was going back, Drake called Sophia and filled her in.
She sighed slightly, "As you guys have expected, it's true. Everything will be peaceful as long as I'm not
there!"
"Don't say that. Have you ever thought that these things happen because they are jealous of you?"
"Forget it, don't comfort me. I'm used to it." Although she didn't have her grandmother's love, her
grandfather loved her very much when he was still alive, and her parents and brother loved her too.
That was enough, wasn't it?
"How about I come to find you for lunch today and take you to eat something delicious? Just to relax a
bit?" Drake suggested.
Sophia thought about it. It had been quite suffocating with Cathy's coming back and the old Mrs.
Lawson's return. She said, "Sounds nice. I'll wait for you to come and pick me up."
"No problem!"
It had been a long time since the two of them had some time alone. Even though they were married
and had a child, they still needed some time to be with each other.
At noon, Drake came early.
The assistant looked envious and said, "Sophia, you and Mr. Riley love each other so much. We, single
people, are so jealous."
Sophia laughed, "Isn't that great? Now that you guys are filled with jealousy, you don't have to eat."
The assistant was like, "..."
Sophia stood up and walked outside.
Drake was leaning against the vehicle. Maybe because he was going to pick her up for lunch, he had
changed his clothes and was wearing a motorcycle jacket. The vehicle was a motorcycle. He looked
very different.
At the same time, Sophia was quite impressed.
Drake handed her a helmet, but when she didn't take it, he asked curiously, "What's wrong? Aren't you
going to have lunch with me?"
"Why are you looking so handsome for merely a lunch?" Sophia asked.
Drake looked at himself strangely and then smiled, "Handsome?"
Sophia didn't deny it, "Yes, very handsome!"
"Impressed?"
"Indeed!"
Sophia admitted it.
Drake suddenly pulled her into his arms, "That's right. That's the feeling I want."
Now Sophia's heart was beating even faster, almost taking her breath away.
