Reckless Marriage Unyielding Love

Chapter 24

Chapter 24

Juliet walked ahead and said with a smile, “It’s a secret!” If she told Mikayla, Mikayla would immediately turn to leave. She was not that stupid.

In the corridor, a man approached them. He greeted them with a wide smile. “Well, what do we have here? I didn’t expect to see two beauties tonight!”

Mikayla shot a glare at Juliet, who returned it with an innocent look. Juliet hadn’t expected to run into Walter Webb here. He was a playboy from a wealthy family, with a mediocre appearance and a sleazy vibe. Plus, he used to be one of her admirers,

“Weren’t you overseas for your career?” Juliet asked, cycing him,

“I just flew back this afternoon,” Walter said with a wink. Julie, are you free? Join me in my private room.”

“I’m not free!” Juliet dodged his hand.

“Come on, it’s just our old high school buddies, Walter said, moving closer until Juliet hid behind Mikayla.

“Hey, campus belle! You’re getting more and more beautiful. Would you like to meet our high school classmates?” Walter saw Mikayla and became more well–behaved.

Mikayla frowned, glanced at Juliet, and asked softly. “Where is the private room you reserved?”

Before Juliet could answer, a woman in a revealing dress came over and clung to Walter’s arin. “What? Are you scared to come?” she taunted.

Juliet recognized Priscilla Longman. Back in high school, Priscilla, jealous of Walter’s attention to Juliet, had rallied some girls to attack her. Juliet had nearly been disfigured, but Mikayla had saved her just in time. For a while, Juliet had even pretended to be close to Walter to get back at Priscilla.

“Why do I not dare?” Juliet retorted. Though she knew Priscilla was just trying to provoke her, she couldn’t back down. But then she remembered Mikayla was with her and thought, I can handle this, but Mikayla…

Seeing Juliet’s distress, Mikayla took her hand and said, “Let’s go She understood Juliet was worried she’d be angry. Event though Mikayla didn’t like such places, she couldn’t let Juliet go alone.

Priscilla had come to find Walter because he had been gone for too long. She didn’t want him wandering into the wrong room in a place filled with women. After all, she had worked too hard to secure her spot by his side. But she hadn’t expected to run into Mikayla and Juliet.

Mikayla wasn’t a threat to Priscilla because Walter dared not flirt with her. But whether fickle Juliet would fall for Walter’s sweet talk was hard to say. Priscilla wasn’t deeply in love with Walter, but she enjoyed having a man who was good in bed, whispering sweet nothings in her ear, and spending money on her.

Mikayla and Juliet followed Walter and Priscilla into their private room, Champs Ave Cove. Walter turned off all the disco lights and muted the music. “Look who I brought today!” he announced, making a grand gesture and humming smugly.

Mikayla walked in and saw another man and three women, all all high school classmates.

“Wow! Isn’t this the campus queen, Mikayla, and Juliet?” said Jerome Estuart, Walter’s best friend and fellow playboy. His eyes lit up with amazement. After all these years, they’ve gotten even more gorgeous!”

“Hey, Mikayla! Aren’t you dating the long–disappeared Carlos after your engagement got canceled? Recently, the marriage proposal ads have been everywhere in Xosa. Shouldn’t you be busy juggling two men? How do you have time to come here?” Jerome’s girlfriend, Lily Elmore, asked jealously. She noticed the lust in Jerome’s eyes and hated Mikayla and Juliet for suddenly showing up.

Mikayla had always attracted many top–tier guys in school because of her family background and looks, but her arrogance kept them at bay. Juliet, on the other hand, got along well and hung out with a lot of guys

“Somebody still has poor taste after all these years,” Mikayla mocked. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
