Richest Mogul 1193
Richest Mogul 1193
After entering Hughes Residence, Caleb and Skylar met a few members of the family.
Jeremy introduced them to Skylar. Among them were the parents of Zack and Quincey, as well as Jeremy’s uncle, Joey Hughes, and his wife. He also introduced his grandpa, the family patriarch.
In the large villa, some of them shifted their glances toward Skylar as Jeremy introduced her. They barely acknowledged them with a nod with a cold and indifferent attitude.
It was clear that aside from Jeremy, the others looked at Skylar with a mix of skepticism and condescension. They were blatantly disrespectful.
But Skylar didn’t mind. It was Jeremy who hired her, and her purpose was to find the cursed object. As for the rest, their opinions didn’t matter to her.
Caleb, however, was not pleased. He asked Jeremy, somewhat dissatisfied, “How much did you pay Skylar to come here? Don’t just rely on the fact that your ex–wife was her bestie to get a
discount.”
With their attitude, even a million would seem too little. Why were they acting all high and mighty? If they were so capable, they wouldn’t need Skylar’s help in the first place!
Caleb was the kind of person who, if someone annoyed him, would use his words to make them question their life choices.
When Caleb spoke up, Marvin finally took notice of him. Up until then, they had all been focused on Skylar.
Caleb’s personality was well–known among their social circles in Jipsburg. He was bold and unrestrained, and his sharp words could leave people speechless.
The Hughes family members‘ expressions shifted at that. They didn’t care much about how much they paid Skylar. Their concern was whether someone so young could really help them. They were skeptical.
They wouldn’t have bothered coming today if Jeremy hadn’t brought her in. So, while the exact amount paid wasn’t their focus, they found Caleb’s remarks rather harsh and wondered what kind of upbringing he had.
“Caleb?” Marvin frowned.
Caleb smiled at him and said, “Yes, it’s me, Mr. Hughes Senior.”
Jeremy’s expression remained neutral, but he felt apologetic toward Skylar. “I’ve just transferred another payment to your account,” he said.
After acknowledging it, Skylar raised an eyebrow and didn’t pay any further attention to the

others in the room. She turned to Jeremy and said, “Please take me to it.”
“Honestly, I think this whole thing with cursed objects is a bit too fantastical. I don’t really believe in it,” Joey’s wife, Melinda Ward, suddenly remarked. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
Skylar just glanced back at her.
Jeremy frowned and said, “Aunt Melinda, if you don’t believe in it, then there’s no need for you to waste your time here.”
“You!” Melinda’s face darkened instantly.
She knew that Jeremy never respected her or her husband. But did he really think that the family couldn’t manage without him? He was far too arrogant.
Marvin shot a glance at the couple. “Enough, stop talking.”
Whether it was really about a cursed object or not was yet to be determined. However, Skylar was trusted by Alexander despite her young age, so she probably had some skills.
“It must be the influence of the cursed object. Otherwise, how could Zack do such a terrible thing? Both he and Quincey don’t even remember what happened,” Zack’s mother insisted.
Another middle–aged woman nodded in agreement. “Exactly. I know my son well. He and Zack have been especially good these past two years. They’re about to join the company to help Jeremy. Then, this strange incident happened. If it’s not a cursed object, then it must be something like hypnosis.”
But she couldn’t help but think that the person Jeremy had brought in seemed unreliable as she was just too young.
