Chapter 23: You Are My Granddaughter-in-law
Shiyao aimlessly looked around, suddenly met You Ze’s eyes, so she turned her head, guiltily.
Ding. The door to the ward opened. A doctor came out taking off his mask, looking relaxed.
“Doctor, how is my grandmother?” asked You Ze with worried voice.
He had thought Nana was playacting, but she made it real. There would be no room for regret if something should happen to her.
The doctor simply patted You Ze’s shoulder, “Don’t worry, she is over -emotional and must have a good rest. Be careful not to frighten your grandmother anymore, the elderly cannot stand the torment like young people.”
“Yes, I’ll keep it in mind.”
You Ze bowed his head in shame, looking across the nurse at his grandmother in bed, a weight lifted off his shoulders, finally.
As soon as the doctor left, You Ze came to Jiang Fengyi’s bed.
“Nana,” You Ze tried to wake her up, but Jiang Fengyi didn’t respond with her eyes closed tightly.
“What’s this? The doctor said she was fine?”
Knowing that she had made a mistake, Shiyao followed after You Ze in silence, and didn’t dare to make a sound. It wasn’t until she heard the doctor said that Jiang Fengyi was out of danger that she was relieved.
However, Jiang Fengyi’s coma-like state scared her again.
She really didn’t want to be kicked out of the company by big boss.
From Jiang Fengyi’s quivering eyelids, You Ze knew that she had been awake for a long time. He helplessly curled his lips, unwilling to continue playacting with her.
“It’s your fault. You’re gonna take care of granny until she’s awake.”
You Ze pushed the young woman behind him to the bedside, but he himself stood far away.
“Oh no, how could you….”
Given Jiang Fengyi’s state, Shiyao didn’t argue with him and bit back her anger.
You Ze waved his hands, gloating with an expression of looker-on. Shiyao brooded for a moment, sat down and cried holding Jiang Fengyi’s hand.
“Granny, please wake up. If anything has happened to you, You Ze will kill me.”
“You don’t know how bad he treats me. I dare not resist even he nearly bites my head off every day in the company.”
Shiyao sobbed and rolled up sleeve to wipe her tears.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
You Ze awkwardly watched Shiyao’s tearful acting, sighing that Nana finally met her match.
‘With her excellent acting, it is no exaggeration to call her an Oscar-winning actor’.
“Granny, you can’t image how miserable I am. My life can’t go on if you don’t wake up.”
As if really suffering many wrongs, Shiyao burst into tears.
“He dares not! One more time, I’ll beat the devil out of him.”
Shiyao was thinking what to cry next, but was startled by Jiang Fengyi’s sudden voice.
“You evil brat, no wonder Yaoyao doesn’t want to marry you. She’s had enough of your bullying. Come over here!”
Jiang Fengyi got angry when Shiyao started speaking.
You Ze was amused with Shiyao’s acting when Jiang Fengyi’s unexpected call shocked him.
“Nana, I didn’t.”
You Ze dragged his feet to Jiang Fengyi like a wronged child rather than a reserved dictator, which really made Shiyao’s jaw drop.
“Admit it! The girl has cried her eyes out,” thundered Jiang Fengyi as she glared disappointedly at You Ze, and didn’t notice that Shiyao was struggling to hold back her laugh.
“Yaoyao.”
“Ah?”
Shiyao immediately regained her pitiful expression; Jiang Fengyi sadly held her little hand, “It won’t ever happen again. If I catch anyone one bullying my granddaughter-in-law, I promise you I’ll wring his neck!”
“Granddaughter-in-law?”
Shiyao bowed her head, embarrassed. ‘I just thought on my feet and pretended to promise her. She wouldn’t take it seriously, would she?’
“Yeah, you’re my granddaughter-in-law. You can’t back out after getting a marriage certificate.”
“Marriage certificate?”
Surprised, Shiyao stared blankly at the innocent You Ze, wondering when they had registered. She had only slept with You Ze several times at most.
“Madam, this is Marriage Certificate for young Master and Lady.”
The butler, god knows when he came in, handed granny two bright red books in time, Jiang Fengyi cheerfully took it and looked over and over.
Shiyao and You Ze simultaneously snatched one over, checking it carefully.
When seeing the catchy stamp, Shiyao almost fell down. Suddenly, her mobile phone rang, it was a message from her mother.
“You’ve promised granny, so I just delivered the household register for you. Happy wedding, my daughter.”
Shiyao put down the phone, feeling blood rising in her throat.
You Ze frowned at the marriage certificate, and marveled at Jiang Fengyi’s efficiency, “Nana finally makes it true.”
But it didn’t seem so sad to get married to this pretty monster.
Shiyao sank into the chair, at a loss. It was unbelievable that she sleepwalked into marriage.
By the time she recovered from her surprise, she had been dragged out of the ward by You Ze.
“Come on, I’ll drive you home.”
You Ze gentlemanly opened the door for Shiyao as usual, which he always did, but Shiyao felt it was a little strange.
“Don’t you mind it at all?” Shiyao muttered as she leaned glumly against the window.
