Sarah
“I’m caught up in this complicated situation. I’m in a fake marriage, and it’s causing all sorts of problems in my personal life.
It’s like I’m living a double life, and it’s overwhelming.”
The woman nodded, her expression understanding.
“That does sound like a challenging situation. But it’s only temporary, right?”
Alexander shrugged, a hint of frustration in his voice. “It’s supposed to be, but it’s taking a toll on me.”
She leaned in closer, her words softer. “Sometimes we need to do what we have to do to achieve our goals. But don’t forget to take care of yourself along the way.
You mustn’t allow those kinds of things to affect you. Try to relax and not get all worked up about it.”
Alexander was taken aback by the wisdom of her words. It was a brief encounter, but he found himself feeling a little lighter, as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
“Thank you,” he said sincerely, giving her a small, appreciative smile. “I needed to hear that.”
“Well… I’m kinda a counselor so it’s no biggie for me.” she said, while sipping her drink.
“A counselor huh? You really are good at what you do, I must say.” he said, a smile on his face as he complimented her.
She smiled.
“Well…. I try to be.”
“No, honestly, you really are good at what you do.” he complimented again.
“You see I don’t believe that a counsellor can help me work on my problems… you know sitting down for 4 hours discussing about why I am angry at someone and all.
But I just had a brief discussion with you and I must say, you’re different from any counselor I have ever had an encounter with.”
She appreciated his kind words and blushed slightly at the compliments.
Alexander thanked the woman for her words of wisdom. “You’re really good at this.”
She smiled. “Well, I try my best.”
“You know, I usually find counseling sessions long and tedious. But this short conversation with you has been surprisingly helpful.
You’re different from any counselor I’ve ever met.”
She appreciated the compliment. “Thank you. I believe that sometimes, a meaningful conversation can be as effective as hours of counseling.”
Alexander agreed. “Absolutely. You have a way of getting to the heart of the matter quickly. It’s a welcome change.”
She smiled.
“So what are you planning to do now about your fake wedding and all?” she asked him.
Alexander sighed, thinking about the complex situation he found himself in.
“I guess I’ll have to continue with the plan. It’s crucial for my business, even if it’s causing me a lot of personal stress.”
She looked at him sympathetically.
“It sounds like a tough spot to be in. But remember what we talked about – don’t let it consume you.”
He nodded appreciatively.
“You’re right. I’ll find a way to make it work, one step at a time.”Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.
“Yeah one step at a time.” she said.
“But I’m telling you, the lady is a piece of work. She is stubborn and doesn’t listen to me.” he said.
“I mean she called me a piece of work and that I’m the most selfish and self centered.”
“Well… what did you call her that led to her saying such words to you?” she asked.
“I um…. called her… a pauper.” he revealed.
The woman chuckled. “A pauper? That’s quite a harsh word to use.”
Alexander nodded. “I know, I lost my temper. But she was pushing my buttons too.”
“Well, it takes two to tango,” she pointed out. “Maybe you both need to find some common ground.”
“Common ground? Me and her? Never gonna happen.” he said, facing his drink.
She leaned in, lowering her voice slightly. “You never know, stranger things have happened. Sometimes, people surprise us.”
Alexander mulled over her words for a moment. “Maybe you’re right, maybe not. But thanks for the chat. It’s been a surprisingly pleasant distraction from all the drama.”
The woman smiled. “Sometimes, that’s all we need. Good luck with your… unique situation.”
“Thanks, I’ll need it,” he said, raising his glass in a silent toast before taking another sip.
“Sorry, I didn’t get your name,”he asked.
She chuckled. “My name is Sarah.
“My name is Alexander,” he revealed.
“Nice to meet you, Alexander.”
“Likewise, Sarah.” Alexander offered a genuine smile, appreciating the unexpected encounter.
Sarah waved as she left, leaving Alexander to his thoughts, his mind already racing with ideas on how to handle the complicated web of his current life.
He thought about what to do with the issue with Marissa. He realized that maybe he would continue with the fake wedding.
Alexander sat there for a while, pondering his options. Sarah’s advice had given him some perspective.
Maybe there was a way to make things work with Marissa. It wouldn’t be easy, but he was determined to find some common ground.
As he finished his drink, he felt a renewed sense of purpose. He knew he had a challenging path ahead, juggling his real relationship with Jessie and the fake marriage with Marissa. But he was ready to face it head-on.
With a deep breath, he left the bar and headed home, prepared to confront Marissa and try to make their unusual arrangement function, even if it meant finding a way to make amends.
He got into his car and drove back home. While he was in his car, he thought about what to say to Marissa.
As he drove back home, Alexander realized the importance of choosing his words carefully when he spoke to Marissa.
He didn’t want to start another argument. Instead, he wanted to find a way to make things right.
While driving, he practiced what he would say. He knew he needed to admit his own mistakes and say sorry for the hurtful things he had said.
He also wanted to emphasize his commitment to making their fake marriage work and ensure it wouldn’t affect his relationship with Jessie.
With a plan in mind, Alexander kept on driving, determined to make amends with Marissa and move forward with their complicated situation.
