His Cure

Duties

“No, this is what I call even. Both of us would have nothing to eat.”she smirks, dropped the pot and looked at him.

Gregory jaw clenched and his eyes darkened.

Then, Beatrice wished she has not done that.

No one should blame her though.

She has short – temper.

Once she is angry, she doesn’t think her actions through before executing them.

With Gregory’s eyes staring at her sharply, her heart missed a beat.

He breathed out and released his balled fists, stood up and left the kitchen.

“I will prepare another one for us!”she yelled after him.

She smiled triumphantly before turning back to the pot.

“I will make another food for us.”she giggled.

When she was done cooking, she dished it out in two plates and took one upstairs.

She stood in the middle of the corridor, not sure of the room Gregory was in.

“Gregory?”she called.

She scoffed at herself for expecting an

answer when she knows him just too much.

“Aarggg!!!”she screamed.

The door before her was opened and Gregory stepped out.

He glared at her after seeing she was perfectly fine and nothing might have scared her.

“Honestly?”

“Honestly, Mr Gregory. You have to eat.”she trotted to him.

He stared down at the food, repugnantly.

“I only eat food cooked by me or Melinda.”

“I see…”Beatrice scoffed.

“But, I am your wife, so there should be an exception, don’t you think?”she raised a brow at him.

Gregory scanned her expression before chuckling.

“Oh, please. Wife?. You’re just a partner.”

“Wife, partner, they are both the same thing.”

“Business partner.”he retorted.

Beatrice huffed.

“I am your paid wife, and since I am getting paid, I have to make sure I perform my wifely duties to..”

“I don’t need that!”he interpolated, sharply.

“These days, you’ve been extraordinary daring.”his brows knitted up.

Beatrice blinked rapidly.

“I get you don’t want to eat the food, bye.”she attempted to leave but he gripped her by her arm.

Beatrice’s heart dropped in her mouth and she opened her mouth, gasping for air.

“What.. are you doing right now, Mr Gregory?”she looked down at his hand that was grasping her arm.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

“You said you have to perform your wifely duties..”he started and chortled.

Beatrice shot her eyes up at him.

“Yes?, excuse me?, let go of me!”she tried to wriggle out of his tight grip.

“Does that includes the bedroom scene too?”he continued with a snicker.

Beatrice blood boiled in her stomach.

“What are you saying?.”she scoffed.

“You know what I am trying to say.”he clicked his tongue.

Beatrice sucked a breath in between her teeth.

“Mr Gregory,”she panted.

“We are in Paris. I am sure finding a beautiful woman for yourself wouldn’t be that hard.”

“Why should I look for another woman when you’re here?”he asks.

Beatrice legs weakened and she batted her lashes.

“Find another woman to fun around with. This is business. There should be no such thing between us!”she gnashed her teeth.

“Such what?. It turns out you still have a dirty mind.”he smirks before releasing her.

“Bast*rd.”Beatrice mumbled under her breath.

She turned to leave but he stopped her.

“Don’t do what you did tonight ever again. I might not show mercy next time.”he uttered and shut the door.

Beatrice rolled her eyes before taking the stairs down.

#Next morning.

..

“Ding Dong!”The doorbell rings from downstairs.

Gregory checked the time on his phone.

It was seven minutes past seven.

He has already woken up about an hour ago.

The person at the door might be Laura.

But, why is she there early?

He opened the door and true to his guess, it was her.

“Oops! I hoped I am not here too early?”she gazed at his shirtless chest.

“Yes, you are.”he scowled before opening the door widely.

“Well, I apologize for that but I just didn’t want to disappoint.”she smiled.

“Come in.., please.”

“Oh, yea..”Laura chuckled before sauntering inside the house.

“So, do you like the house?”she questioned.

“A bit. Mine is cooler than this.”he locked the door and turned to her.

“You.. have a villa?, here in Paris?”

“Hm.”he nodded.

“Then, why did you have me prepare here for you?”

“Just because. The sun is more brighter here and the ocean is beautiful.”he gulped down.

“Such a romantic man.”Laura chuckled.

“You considered all that because of your wife, right?”

“You ask too many questions, miss Laura.”he frowns.

“I apologize for that.”she grinned.

“Coffee or tea?”he asked.

“Anything the gentleman offers me.”

“Sit down.”he said before striding to the kitchen.

He made her a quick cup of tea and went back to the living room.

“Here,”he handed the cup out.

“Thank you.”she collected the tea and wrapped her hands around it.

“We are not done yet, so you will have to wait or you could go after finishing your tea then come back by 9.”

“I will wait.”she blew some air on the tea before taking a sip.

Her eyes glowed in delight.

“Mr Gregory, not only are you a romantic man, you also know how to make a good tea!”she stared up at him.

“It’s nice?”

“Well, it is.”she chuckled.

“I just kind of made it hurriedly. I even forgot to add sugar. I remembered only when you drank it. How come it tastes so good in your mouth?. Has your taste buds rotten or that is just how bad you wanna compliment me?”he slides his hands in his pant’s pockets.

Laura seized a breath before smiling out whilst blinking her eyes.

“I didn’t know you could talk so much, Mr Gregory.”she looked down at her tea.

“You could go to the kitchen and add the sugar to it yourself.”he prodded.

“Well… no need.”she grinned sheepishly.

Beatrice appeared at the top of the staircase, stretching her body.

She stared at the direction of Laura and Gregory and she gasps.

Gregory’s eyes diverted to her.

She widened her eyes at him but he only frowns.

Laura wondered who he was staring at like that then followed his gaze to Beatrice.

“Oh, your wife, she is awake, isn’t she?”

Beatrice and Gregory looked at her weirdly.

She batted her lashes and bit her tongue.

“Mrs Winslow, I am Laura, your tour guide.”she said to her.

Beatrice scoffed.
