Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 109

Maja had spent the whole night in the hospital corridor, never expecting she’d wake up to such accusations. She clenched her lips, a bitter sting in her heart. Just as she was about to snap back, she

heard Nell coughing

His coughing was bad Maja quickly grabbed a tissue from nearby and handed it to him, only to see

spots of blood on it Neil saw it too, looking somewhat startled, his brows furrowing. But he didn’t seem

overly worried, thinking he was just upset

“Maja, I know you’re not into lan. Didn’t you have a boyfriend back in college?”

Maja didn’t respond, all she could think about was the blood stained tissue. She had asked the doctors

not to tell Neil the truth, so he had been under the impression that he would recover soon.

Without getting a response from her, Neil felt a little regretful

“I was too greedy I built this company from the ground up, and now I can’t let go. Back then, Holden

liked you a lot, and marrying lan wouldn’t be a bad idea. You should know how many women in

Greenfield want to be with lan, and if you could be his wife, I could rest in peace even after I’m gone.”

“Dad “Maja tried to stop him

“Even if I can’t make it in the future, and the company goes under, you’ll still have a safety net. I’ll give

you ten percent of the shares later, so you and Cristina don’t have to fight over this anymore.”

Neil’s old trick was to give some sweet talk after a good persuasion. Maja couldn’t hate him directly,

especially when he was on his deathbed.

“Maja, leam to get along with tan. As for your college boyfriend, you don’t even know who he is, and he

didn’t even tell you. How could he really like you.

Maja felt exhausted, gave a few perfunctory replies, and just sat there.

Meanwhile, Carter stood respectfully on the other side of the bed until he heard the sound of rain

outside and asked.

“Ms Pennyfeather, did you bring an umbrella?”

Maja shook her head, poured a cup of warm water for Neil, her eyes full of exhaustion.

“Dad, take your medicine before you look at the documents.

Neil looked pale, waved his hand, “I know my condition, it’s boring here anyway. It doesn’t matter if I

look at the documents.”

There was nothing much Maja could say. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

When she left the hospital, it was already eleven at night. Neil said there was a document at home he

had forgotten to bring, asked her to fetch it and deliver it later.

Carter had left, and it wasn’t appropriate for Neil to call him back. Cristina was probably already

asleep.

“Dad, you should rest.”

“Maja, after looking at that document, I’ll have a meeting tomorrow, then I’ll rest properly. The project

was snatched away, I need to establish cooperation with other companies:

Maja had no choice but to agree. But halfway through the drive, due to the rain, the tires got stuck in a

pothole, causing all the surrounding cars to be blocked. The drivers came one by one to ask what

happened, those with bad tempers started cursing right away.

Maja felt extremely embarrassed; even the police came to her location.

Two of Maja’s tires were flat, she could only stand on the side. Without an umbrella, she was soaked

through..

She sneezed, watching as her car was towed away by the police, and the road that was blocked also

resumed traffic. She was considering whether to hail a cab, but when she patted her pocket, she

realized she had left her bag and phone in the car.

Maja felt a bit helpless and powerless, especially when Neil mentioned that man tonight.

Her eyes felt teary, and she decided to just walk home. Not far away, lan’s car was slowly moving

along with the dissipating traffic. He was still holding a pen, looking at the woman standing on the side

of the road.

The raindrops on the car window formed beads of water, like shattered diamonds, as if they had

gathered the neon lights from outside, gently illuminating his face.

His brows furrowed slightly. Just as Maja was about to cross the road when the light turned green, a

car suddenly stopped in front of her. The car window rolled down, and she saw the man’s serious face.

“Mr. Raymond”

She politely called out, but couldn’t help sneezing because she was soaked through.
